NRAP Water Landing

Recommended Posts

For this challenge you need the following mods:

Kerbal NRAP Adjustable Test Weight

Ferram Aerospace Research

Kerbal Engineer (not sure if Mechjeb will work, I've never used it)

I got the idea for the challenge when I discovered that NRAP doesn't break when you land in water and it has nearly no atmospheric drag. This means you pull several hundred Gs when you land in water.

Your objective is to pull the most Gs by landing it in water.

Rules:

1. NRAP has to land in water.

2. Kerbal Engineer Surface tab must be open and its G-force indicator visible in necessary screenshots.

3. Necessary screenshots are:

One screenshot moments before landing (no more than 5k above land. If you go fast enough, exceptions can be made)

Another screenshot after landing

You may take other screenshot if you feel like it, but these two are necessary and in those the G-force indicator must be visible.

4. The max G-force value must be lower before landing than it is after it. Resetting it before landing is allowed, however.

5. All mods are allowed, no matter how OP

6. Debug menu is allowed.

7. You may choose any body of liquid to land in. That means Eve and Laythe are also options.

8. The G-force is your score. Higher score is better.

Since this might be very confusing, here's my attempt to show how simple it really is.

This screenshot shows my maximum g-force before landing - as you can see it's 4.086

This one shows my score - 477.851

Leaderboard:

1. xrayfishx - 477.851

Note that this challenge was put together fairly quickly, as I don't have much time right now, also this is my first challenge. If you find any issues with it, let me know.
