[Showcase] Showoff Your Rep-Worthy Crafts

Figured it couldn't hurt to put a few more of my cooler designs up here, so here they are (click for big version):

I posted these a while ago in the SSTO thread, but since I am still so excessively proud of them, and with them still being some of my best SSTOs to date (both functionally and aesthetically), I'll share them again here:

Thunderlane Mk-3

3.7 tons to orbit

it's a subassembly

Thunderlane Mk-5

7.5 tons to orbit

also a subassembly

Fluffles Mk-4C

1.4 tons to orbit, or whatever fits in the bay

again, a subassembly

Fluffles Mk-4

My current Laythe Base to Laythe Space Station crew ferry. It features rover wheels, requires short takeoff, and can carry 3 kerbals, making it very well suited for long-term assignments on Laythe

What i like most about these four planes is that the middle fuselage has a structural panel(s) in the middle, splitting it into two tanks, with each end of the middle section feeding into only one of the engine sections of the wings. This method solved the issue i was having with COM drifting too much, making my crafts unstable.

I finally found time to update the Self Propelled Artillery that I posted almost a year ago now. How time flies :0.0:

The old version of my Tuscan TEL only had a 260km range and a single re-entry vehicle. I played around with purely liquid fueled versions that easily reached orbit, but I didn't feel they were particularly realistic. Instead I've designed a new solid fueled missile with a small liquid fueled second stage out of necessity. Thanks to the SRBs newly tweakable thrust it has a range of about 3000km when launched due East and jettisoning the fairing at the earliest opportunity. I've barely managed to place the re-entry vehicle bus into orbit after a particularly efficient ascent, but when an inclination change is required the range drops significantly.

I'll post the download in a separate thread when I've written new flight manuals for these.

Here are but a few of my creations...

(That station's 1 solid piece! No docking at all.)

MDpsd08.png

My battlecruiser, which is all-stock. (pic shows a kerbpainted one, though)

My 600-parts supercarrier, capable of hauling a small fleet of ships around in its giant hangar! (and yet it weighs under 100 tons :P )

And my cargo SSTO, with IP capability and room for a good amount of cargo and kerbals!

I made a stock Apollo like lander, with just enough fuel in transfer stage for the "Day One Mun Run" in which you can get an encounter by burning straight up on the first day, sorta.

Also, ignore me using infinite fuel. I messed up with part clips, and my save files broke, and I lost the craft, so I can't fix it. I can't fly it, either, or give you all the ship.

Here's something that I made the other night, it's called the ATC, or the AnTi Collision device (I know that's a little desperate). It's all stock parts and could land on any atmospheric body (although it has only been tested on Duna), and mabye some low gravity non-atmospheric bodies.

The Cobra... a 15-seat SSTO using TT's Mk3 Crew Cabin (otherwise, all stock parts).

You know you could do the same thing with seats clipped inside standard fuel tanks, right? Emptying them is optional, kerbals have spacesuits. To get in or out you can clip the camera inside parts very easy if they're not near the CoM (as in this case) to click on the seats (or build a role-play interior with cabins and such).

Rune. In case you want to provide a download, stock is always easier to click, you know it will work.

This one I did a while ago but I still impressed myself with the craft. From my aerospace page:

Kestrel

Javascript is disabled. View full album

This is easily the most maneuverable of all planes I've built. Have fun flying this thing around the VAB or launching missiles into the tower!

Kestrel

Kestrel - with external fuel tank

Kestrel Fighter

I hope you like :)
