I took a look at the colliders, I think they were a little too small.

Do you have a picture of the worst offenders for clipping?

I found a neat low-poly Soyuz that reminded me to dig up the old parts.

I am trying to remove some of the awkward components of the old mesh. The LK lander is a difficult shape to approximate,  but some improvements are being made.
But, if you have some  modelling advice, very very welcome!

The new size factor is much improved. Very conceivable now to launch an LK on top of a Soyuz (With a wide fairing), just like in reality.
It is also a much closer fit to orthographic drawings than the old.

Finally, it will unfortunately only seat one Kerbal, this is the reality of realistic sizing.

I keep forgetting to mention this. It's a combination of the larger parts, as well as some smaller surface attach parts. Gemini and Vostok RCS parts have always clipped too deep into stuff.

Many many tests now for me and have yet to find Proton problems.

KJR. Tried both with and without Mechjeb. Deleting partDatabase.cfg solved the initial issue (rotating like hell and then flipping upside down at like 1.5k meters). Adding those little Soyuz fins solved the second issue (flipping during gravity turn). For now it's controllable. I hope. Your Proton will always be a great mistery, as it seems.

I hope you don't mean you put 'GameData' inside 'GameData'...

Yes, it's the content of GameData from tantares zip file that you have to put in ksp GameData folder.

You want the folders from inside the zip's gamedata folder, ie the Tantares and TantaresLV folders. Those go inside your KSP gamedata.

It sounds like you're saying you put the zip's gamedata inside your KSP gamedata, meaning you would have KSP/Gamedata/Gamedata/Tantares, which is wrong. You want KSP/Gamedata/Tantares etc etc

No problem. For future reference, a lot of mod downloads will have the first folder in the zip look like it's the folder for the mod. That folder usually actually has a 'Gamedata/MODFOLDER' type structure inside it. Double check when you're installing a mod to make sure you're not accidentally putting in extra layers of folders. :)

You can also merge the GameData folder from the mod download with the existing GameData folder, copy into this directory.

Would it be possible to try without KJR?

Glad to hear you have some success :) But, the Proton issues are still very confusing.
