Nice launch, question, from what mod is the "Pioneer 5 solar panel"? Thx :)

@damonvv it comes from the bluedog design bureau

and aside from the solar batteries, is perhaps legitimately the smallest and lightest solar array available at present.

the realnames config file makes life so much easier XD

Looks awesome. Beale, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Really excited for an orange Soyuz, and the Kosmos is perfect, keep up the hard work. Between this mod and BDB I am a happy man.

Also have you ever considered the white and drab green paint scheme from Vostok? It's one of my favorites, and might look nice (with a few artistic changes) on the lower stages and boosters of your r-7. Just a thought.

Thanks!

I'm waiting for the Making History expansion pack, which should add the modules to the stock game for texture-switching.

Hi, I’ve just seen that in the pack there is are some 1.875 parts that don’t seem linked to any launcher. These parts are three fuel tanks, an upperstage engine, a decoupler and a payload fairing. What’s is their purpose? All the parts seem to be used in the upper part of a launcher, maybe there is a lower stage that I’ve missed?

Yep, it is for the big N1 rocket, final stage before the Lunar payload.

That's pretty cool, I would be interested in the arm link also.

There's also the Kibo arm and exposed facility. You can also add a KAS magnet (via cfg) to the arm effector. PM me if you need help!

@Beale. I use snacks, and wrote some config files for some of your Habs.  Question:. What parts do you think should have "soil recycling"

I think the orbital modules should for the soyuz.

Honestly, no idea.

The Soyuz is only a small ferry, so maybe not.

The Russians have done some experiments growing food in space, but I think it only makes sense in the largest station modules and at very low experimental rates.

Even the mighty ISS only recycles water, not solid waste.

Crews have sent quail eggs up for study since 1979, with the first ones actually hatching in 1990. Since then, Russian cosmonauts have nurtured baby quails from birth, hand-feeding them and studying their adaptive abilities. The downside? “The cosmonauts grew attached and had trouble killing them,” according to Dr. Gioia Massa of NASA. LINK

All good points, the mod just uses a cute/funny simplification.  Science labs can turn ore into food lol.

That makes me think the core should only have it.  Any other thoughts from others?
