DX9 or DX11 or OpenGL?

Recommended Posts

i think i'd read a thread some while ago saying forcing the game to run with opengl makes it a bit smoother.

- is it true?

- shall i run the game with DX9 or DX10 or DX11 or OpenGL?

i am running with phenom2 955 @3.6G, ATI 7850 (i think 7850 is DX11 compatible if i dont recall wrong)

- does forcing rendering method make a difference actually?

DX10 isn't available, DX11 is quite buggy, you should either use DX9 or OpenGL. OpenGL is slower on Unity, how much depends on your hardware, and has some minor graphical glitches, but saves a lot of money. Very worth it if you use many mods, but if not - use DX9, the standart.

Opengl makes it slower but with less ram usage.

so... as long as i dont hit the 3G bottleneck, i am fine with the standard launch option, right?

so, what's the default? DX 11 or DX 9 ?

EDIT - oh duh, I re-read and I see Eisfunke already said it was DX 9

dont know if it's my mis-perception or is it real...

it seems to me, with DX11, the game goes "null reference exception" very often, and lazor docking camera dont function correctly
