[WIP] NASA SLS - Released: Orion MPCV Core Module 1.0 [4/18/2015]

Recommended Posts

Here is the new engine integrated into the second stage ICPS.

In other news, I'm shopping for texture replacement plugin to include both the white and black Orion textures in the mod. So far I've tried Firespitter (with no luck, can't even get the contextual menu to display in the VAB).

Happened the same to me with Fustek space station parts, it only works with an specific version of the plugin, I'm using the one included by Sumghai.

Okay. That settles it. I'll offer the two textures as two different downloads (with different model names, so you can have both). I'd rather have it this way than have a mod that sometimes works if you have the correct version, which would be broken if the author of that mod updates. Plus, with KSP 1.0 dropping in a few days, I think it would be better to not rely on dependencies which might be broken in the release. :)

Perfect choice!

Can you please release the upper part (docking adapter)? That way with some other parts resizing we can use the capsule :D

You can grab the part out of AmericanPack and, or CMES , And sure there are a handful more mods with that part :)

EDIT- And has the white been release :)

I was looking through my old imgur files and found this.

For those of you who have wondered why I've taken so long to release this.... you know, since I first started on the Orion over 9 months ago. Since then, I've literally remade and remade and remade the orion at least a dozen times (probably two dozen). Here is a comparison of my first orion 9 months ago and the final version. Practice does pay off in the end, I think :)

A little teaser about something coming in the near future, after SLS (which, I'm happy to announce, should be later this month)

Sweet! Can you release more SLS and Orion parts soon though?

Looks like a part of the Altair...? Whatever it is, it looks promising! :)

You guessed it!

The MPCV may already exist in game in the form of simghai's SDHI, I haven't checked yet to see if the scale matches the SLS. If it does match, then one less part(s) to make. Otherwise SDHI doesn't match, I will make a matching version.

One of the more remarkable aspects of this long distance deployable space station is "...provides deep space vehicle assembly...". Sounds like there is an existing mod to compliment that no? Also, did you notice the central component?

This part screams "SCIENCE!". Although, coding is my weakness and I'm not confident in my skills to be able to code a new science device. But I'm willing to give it a try. Can't be that hard, can it?

Not to much to say about these. I recall seeing pretty much these exact same components in other mods. I don't recall which off the top of my head though... I'll find them later.

Mars? They mean... Duna... right?

While there is already ARM in stock KSP (since 23.5), the components in this Boeing concept art look uniquely different...

Not to much details about this one. I'll do some research to see if I can find more information about this Europa probe.

Another probe, but smaller than the Europa Clipper. But then again, it is just an orbiter. (Please, no tissue paper jokes)

Another part that screams "SCIENCE". But, just looking at that thing makes my want to break out blender and start modeling.

200 AU... another science related probe I'm thinking. Are those..... strange solar panels or almost stock RTGs on that thing?

Another probe... another opportunity for SCIENCE.

ARM and ADM? Hmmmm.

This looks like a type of inflatable habitat? Didn't I see one of those already available? ;)

Where did you get all these images? Is it in a PDFs or something cause I want to read more on it.
