The boring space program

Don't get me wrong, I like space exploration as much as everyone else of this board, but just look at what the Kerbal did so far.

See this ? A lot of people see the future by looking at these pictures, but not our accountants. Costly launch vessels, non-reusable components and overpriced Mun "single-spot" exploration. All this waste and money for missions with little practical applications and poor science yield.

It's time to change that. Introducing the boring/rational space program, aiming at a greater efficiency, lower cost and higher scientific impact missions.

tl:dr : An other budget-cut style space program aimed at getting ready when part costs will get in the game.

First mission : Mun sampler.

Based on an existing common spacecraft bus, this satellite will asses potential surface water deposits on the Mun for further investigation.

The contractor selected for the launch system is Rockomax. The payload will be launched on a standard Rockomax A-1 rocket. Since Kerbodyne's entry into the rocket market, Rockmax began a very aggressive pricing strategy in order to appeal to it's old customers.

Of course, in order to stick to the cost saving policies adopted at the agency, commercial payloads will have to be delivered along with the main payload as to maximize profits and sell all Delta-V available on the launch system.

The commercial payload comprise of two communication satellites ordered by Snack-TV, the leading Pay-To-View snack cooking channel on Kerbin. They must be placed on an inclined orbit.
