Is the throttle logarithmic?

Sorry about the newbie questions but this one is bothering me. I saw a video tutorial where the guy was refering to the big notch two thrids of the way up on the throttle as "50 percent" and I was just wondering whether that's correct. Is the throttle more sensitive at lower thrust like that?

No, the throttle is linear, and directly affects thrust.

(Caveat - Unless he was using a Mod that changes the way throttle or motors fuel flow works)

KSP throttle uses a linear equation to caculate the thrust output; the big notches just divide the throttle in three parts to help you to remember the throttle level easier.

This is a common mistake. It really should be 75% since the divisions divide it into 4 parts.

It's not, but I've always wondered why the throttle marks are 33/66/100 instead of 24/50/75/100.

So the guy in the tutorial was wrong. That's what I thought. Not that a logarithmic scale wouldn't make sense, mind you, as usually you want more precision at lower throttle.
