Kerbin and Kerbol has been noticed ever since ancient times, and were named after the two Kerbal creator gods, which danced ever so freely in a infinite void, one day, they screwed up and the Kerbol system was created.

Then came observations of the Mun, which was named after the Kerbal god of prosperity. Mun was depicted as a glowing kerbal, wearing a toga, holding a magic pole.

The first telescopes were made, and Minmus and Eve were discovered. In Kerbal mythology, Minmus was depicted as a mischievous, fat kerbal that would do anything to steal snacks to give to his master, Eve, which was depicted as a tall, feminine kerbal who would lure lovesick kerbals to their doom.

Then Gilly and Moho were discovered. They were named after the first two Kerbals, one male, one female.

Later on, Duna and Ike were discovered. Duna was named after the Kerbal god of the deserts and misfortune, whilst Ike was one of the servants of Duna.

Dres was discovered, and was named after the Kerbal god of luck, the rival of Duna. Dres was the farthest out planet at the time, until Kerbals updated their telescopes and pointed them at the skies.

Jool was discovered, and was named after the Kerbal god of war and lightning.

Jool's moons were discovered. The first two moons, Stratos and Laythe were discovered. Stratos was named after the Kerbal god of sky, brother of Jool. Laythe was named after one of Jool's many daughters, Laythe was the goddess of the sea.

Then the rest were discovered.

Vall was named after the kerbal god of snow and ice, Tylo was named after the goddess of fire, volcanoes and craftmanship. Bop was named after the goddess of fertility, and Pol was named after the goddess of the harvest. Kallipo was named after the god of plauges.

Then Wexx was discovered, and it was named after the ruler of gods, father of Jool.
