Make stuff because you think it's awesome. Make stuff you'll be happy to look back on yourself, even if only a few people have acknowledged it. Rep, and comments are awesomely encouraging, and it's always nice to know other people are enjoying the things you make, but if you make things just to seek them, you're gonna have a bad time. Believe me, I've been on these forums a while, and have some idea how things go down. It seems to me that you've got the basics of image editing. If you want to pursue it, it will take time, and work cultivating your own creativity. I don't think you're there yet, but if it's something you want to learn, go for it. It can be great fun.
