The plernets

I have decided to create my (more mediocre ) version of 'the plernets' for all the KSP planets. I am open to all feedback and criticism. There will be 7 compositions in total (for obvious reasons that are obviously obvious): Moho-the bringer of explosions; eve-The bringer of death; kerbin-the bringer of life; duna-BIG LOUD NOISES WITH LOADS OF INS-the bringer of conflict;dres-the lonely one;jool-bringer of snacks and eeloo bringer of rockets.

(My farouvite so far is Duna then kerbin :). )

THE SONGS:

Please feel free to leave any feedback, especially what I can improve :) !

(and before anyone asks, the original 'planets' by gustav holst are in the public domain)

Heh.

Duna?! More like DONE-A! -iDubbbzTV

(Here's the thread I made for this)

Anyways.

With all due seriousness, these songs aren't bad. Generally with songs, you try to come up with some theme and develop it throughout the piece (think of Beethoven's 9th), until its conclusion. You did this pretty well with Kerbin, but the other two seem to wander around a bit before their finish, without ever establishing a theme. A good rule of thumb is to make a song "something whose main melody is hummable," very distinct and easy to pick out. I try to do this with all of my songs.

Part of this may be that Sibelius isn't all that good at playing music, but I kinda wish that some of the parts were less dissonant. I know that much of it is likely deliberate, but generally, anything that clashes a bit makes my ears hurt. Just personally.

One final thing: In the future, can you lengthen the songs a little? Keep in mind, a song that's only a minute long has very little room to develop. I know that putting more measures and more notes into Sibelius is a massive pain, but trust me, it will be worth it. :)

Just my $0.02 here.

Thank you for your honest feedback, and to be honest. Parts of Moho were ment to sound Terrible for the explosions (as Sibelius doesn't have cannons as instruments) and Jool is moderatly good, I will try to make the rest of the songs at the same or better quality as kerbin, but it might be hard to pick a theme, for example dres (which I would imagine to be slow and sad). But once again, thanks for the feedback.

EDIT: don't worry, eve and eeloo will be at least 2 times the length of kerbin at least, but it took 6-8 hours to compose each piece (with Moho only taking 5.5), so doubling the length will most likely triple the time to compose each one, so they would take a lot longer to make :)

Plus, dat trombone in Jool
