Hover Craft

test ver 0.2

Hovering height, max-force and damping ratio is control by right click menu, all engines share same settings.

Consume ElectricCharge and efficiency could be modified by CFG file.

This engine will cast a ray to its pointing direction to calculate distance and apply force.

Bug reports and suggestions are welcome.

It uses an engine that auto adjust its thrust (and other modules). Good idea

Not only a good idea, it's something that's been attempted many times in various forms. This is the first time I've seen it done with a custom engine though. That may be the ticket.

Pretty sure you could do it before with Lo-Fi's repulsors.

It works with raycast, and on ocean planet it will work with altitude at the same time.

Not purely... unless you're going to tell me that Kerbals don't exist in reality... or some other nonsense like that.

Works great over water! :D. These could be great for extracting Karbonite from the oceans of Eve and Laythe.

Would it be possible to make a switch whereby it only works in atmosphere? for realistic hovercrafts that won't work on the mun.

this is a horrible suggestion.

hover engines aren't necessarily spinning blade fans pushing air. really, what's the point of having it not work in a vacuum? you could just choose to not use it in vacuum.

Is this purely Sci-Fi?

Yeah, I am bored with reality, everything I made is against realism and try to keep some fun within.

It could, I was planing a hover craft in the beginning ,soon I noticed that hover craft has tooooooooooooooooo many limitations, so I change my idea to make something more advanced.

Still needs to be fixed so that the engines work over water.

Fix what? So far, the most problem I have is the peak value happens, I think it is because of some terrain problem, will make a filter later to get rid of them.

Hover Engines do not seem to work when traveling over water.
