If I just copy over the squad folder will that just give me the redone textures or does that also have new parts in it? I'm just looking to have the redone textures.

Squad and PathPatches will give you the redone textures without any new parts.

Two quick questions:

1. Tweakscale compatibility:

I'd love to get Ven's working well with tweakscale, but I'm having trouble making the ModuleManager patches. Do I need to just add AFTER syntax to the current Tweakscale stock patch, or will I need to make entire new ones?

2. Real Plume:

Real Plume has custom engine sounds that I prefer, but Ven's seems to re-apply the stock engine sounds (or at least the engine activation sound) on top of the Real Plume versions. Is there a good way to fix this?

Thanks!

So, here's what I have for a patch, but it still doesn't work. Any advice?

Coming back to KSP, I enjoy the beautiful docking ports of this mod (and bumpers, and lights, and everything!). But I do have one issue (that I didn't find a solution for searching this thread):

I cannot stack anything on a docking port. I am used to be able to stack stuff atop a docking port, but I can't with Ven's? When I select another part, I can see the attach node show up for a split second, but it then disappears and I can't connect anything to it.

Docking ports from other mods (e.g. SpaceY) work fine. It also only affects clampotron Jr/regular/Sr. All the inline versions and the shielded docking port work fine as well.

EDIT: And obviously, I immediately found a "solution" (though I don't really understand the logic): If I deploy the bumpers in the VAB, I can stack. If they are retracted, I can't. However, the parts then do clip (because they attach in the regular spot, not "atop the bumpers"), so I'm expecting fun times when detaching.

I think the Clamp-O-Tron MK-16XXL Docking Port (the 1.25m one with a built parachute) has an oversized collider. (Not sure if you are using that one since I can't see your image on my mobile.) For me, it heats up on top of my Mk1-2 during re-entry, even when I'm pointing retrograde, and it cuts the parachute when I'm probably 30 or more meters above the surface.

Edit: Tried this out in a test install without 100+mods :D.  The early chute cut only happens with RealChute installed, and only when landing over water...  Very soon after the chute cut, the F3 menu says "Clamp-O-Tron MK-16XXL Docking Port splashed down hard and was destroyed".

So if i run the pruner files, will any mods using those stock textures cease to work?

Yes. Parts that use stock textures will look broken. But since KSP is 64 bit now, you don't really need to. In ye olde days it was a trick to save a few dozen Mb's, now its better to just keep the old textures.

And if i uninstall the mod, will the stock parts return automatically?

No, you'll have to run the unpruner file. But again, don't use the pruners anymore. No real point.

I'm experiencing a spacing issue when docking the revamped ports. It affects the parachute one the most:

So even when the ports are docked there is a big gap left between them.

Anyone has an idea what might be causing this?

I've noticed this in the past as well, for as long as I've used VSR. AFAIK, it isn't any kind of bug, it's just the way the parts are modeled.

The MK2 VA pod I am getting a kerbal outside the pod and the cutaway view looks like they are in a big grey rectangle that is bigger than the pod itself. Just curious if this is a known issue or should I post a pic.

It's a known issue as far as I'm aware. The VA doesn't have a proper IVA.

Did any of the recent changes do something that would cause NullReferenceExceptions to be thrown constantly? Any sort of reference changed on existing crafts that the game would be looking for that isn't there? I'm getting a ton of them now (and my non-retractable solar panels are all screwed up and I cannot fix them).

Edit: Log file isn't very helpful.

Can anyone advice how I fix this? As in.. have the attachment actually attached to the part?

Or, maybe even better, how can i revert back to certain stock parts instead of Ven's version?

Edit: I was able to delete the use of this part by deleting the appropriate lines from the .cfg files.

Which lines in which .cfg files did you delete specifically? I have this exact same issue and have been looking for a fix. Ideally reverting just this part back to the stock texture.

I changed my XXL chute docking port for a regular one without the chute.

The "normal" one behaves normally unlike the XXL one. All the struggle with the drag is gone.

Does someone have any idea why the XXL chute docking port has so much drag ?

Thank you guys ! :)

I came up with a fix for the LV-T45's bottom node, that makes it line up properly with the bottom of the nozzle.  Quick modulemanager patch, just throw it in a .cfg file (it's also set to not do anything if Ven's isn't installed):
