Is this a good case for a gaming pc?

Hey guys, I have found this indiegogo campaign.

I am currently buying the components for a new gaming rig (gtx 770 :P ), and I still haven't bought the case.

These guys want to make an aluminum case with liquid cooling... it's kinda expensive for my tastes though.

What do you guys think? Is this too much for a liquid cooling system? I'm never gonna be able to build one myself, so I might as well buy one already assembled. 200€ thugh... :/

This is the problem with Indiegogo:

as of right now, the case only exists as a bunch of hand-drawn blueprints on my desk and a 3D model on my computer.

Stay away from tech projects that don't even have a working prototype. Kickstarter do require folks to have at least got to that stage before asking people to fork over their hard-earned.

Mmm... I thought it worked like kickstarter, I guess I need to check this out more. I liked the concept though, but yes, I agree that if they don't have a prototype yet maybe I should wait a little more...

I dont see the Point in this. It looks cool, but only if you have 2 GPUs of just the right size. If you use Crossfire/SLI you want to use the best GPUs available (since otherwise there is NO reason to do CF/SLI) and then the 2 slot design wont be enough because you cant cool a High-End GPU with such a small Heatsink properly. 120mm Watercooling isnt real Watercooling, that sounds like one of those prebuild solutions which have about the performance of a good aircooler...

And for 30€ more there is the Phanteks Ethoo Primo which is big enough to fit in EVERYTHING (withing reason) and looks even better.

You might be thinking of Mini-ITX, which typically have only two RAM slots and a single PCI-E slot. Micro-ATX usually is the equivalent to a full ATX board minus 3 PCI-E slots, not much of a penalty unless you use >2 GPUs or a bunch other PCI-E cards.

I would go with a case from a reputable manufacturer.

Also that case looks like it's made so you can hear 100% of the sound of the GPU coolers(usually the sound of them is somewhat dampened by the case walls), and it will look stupid with only a single GPU in it.

Liquid cooling is a bit overrated, IMO. You can get similar performance and noise levels with the big tower air coolers.

I agree - buy a (reasonably) cheap set of fans for probably a fraction of the cost and 0% of the risk of something leaking and frying your expensive hardware. I run 6 with a chunky heatsink and a i7970, and my cpu never gets over 40* on max load. It idles at about 25*, and if a fan breaks, just unplug it and replace it in about five minutes :) Really quiet too - they're Arctic F12's.

I've also read on some warranty cards that as soon as you install liquid cooling you start voiding everything. But if you're into overclocking its totally your call - but if that's the case I wouldn't buy a small tower. You want the ability to get in to that machine as fast as possible if something goes wrong.

my current rig chugs along fine in a $30 case. it doesn't have any fancy (unnecessary) things like liquid cooling or more than one video card. of course there will always be performance geeks out there who will pay 4x as much for a system that is only is 10% faster. next build is going to be a mini-itx case with a bare minumum of hardware and a low tdp cpu.
