This thread is a split from this thread (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/93907-CCiCap-was-announced-SpaceX-and-Boeing-were-selected/) that is just to discuss the SNC challenge to the CCtCap Program and its implications and effects.

so Nibb and Kryten you were right, it will delay the program the only loophole suggested by that article is

Officials did not say if the work stoppage prevents activities using internal funds.

which is more a loophole that SpaceX is more likely to take than Boeing

SpaceX will continue working for now largely because they still have CCiCap milestones to complete, which are unrelated to the CCtCap challenge. If the GAO manages to resolve the challenge by the end of the year, SpaceX will probably not really be affected. Last CCiCap milestone is (IIRC) the inflight abort test in January 2015.

So a couple of things have happened. After the ordered Work Stop by NASA, they used statutory authority to tell Boeing and SpaceX that they can continue to work on the project. SNC then filed a case seeking an injunction to force a work stopage
