Vehicle has glitchy speed on launch

On launch, my vessel (just a mark 1 pod, a parachute, and the first SRB) has navball velocity of about 180 m/s, and drifts gently upwards. the log spams:

Please follow the advice in the sticky thread at the top of this sub-forum that explains how to report problems in a useful manner (especially the bits about the output_log.txt/player.log file rather than KSP.log and the list of mods).
