thx ill get those fixed! btw the fix for MFT is available download in OP, in extra download section.

I never seen this happen before, is all other stock and mod engines working? are you in ksp 1.2.2?
Also, use alt+f12, under console, debug, check the first two boxes, and reload the craft on runway see any orange text appear on top right, if it's just related to prefab fx or rasterprop monitor, ignore it, otherwise screenshot it maybe it will help to find out why..

hi, yes, im using 1.2.2 and other mods are working fine.

this is the screenshot of the orange text:0.0:

Does there happen to be a place where I can grab some craft files for this mod? I love all the parts but I can't seem to make a spaceplane that works, so I'd like to download what other people have made so that I can sort of learn by seeing exactly what they did, where they put the things, and all that. Plus maybe not have to make my own spaceplane because I can just use something someone else built for similar purposes.

Placing the elevators is the part that is most difficult for me. I'm not sure I'm getting it right, either, because I keep having to go to the end of the runway and use the height in order to get off the ground. So having some other people's craft files might help me figure out proper placement. I mean, I know I should put them in the gaps in the wing and try to make them fit, but there might still be something I'm not getting quite right.

KerbalX is the site where you can download craft files. I have a few planes on there.

Just use the ones that look like blueprints

There are two fundamental things to mind in your spaceplane design. Failing this, your craft cannot liftoff on its own power and is highly at risk of striking the ground like a missile or a wet paper plane.

  1. Your rear wheels must be aligned very near to or directly under your CoM. The aircraft needs this in order to pivot properly when trying to nose-up for liftoff. Be careful with this. The weight distribution of your parts can cause your plane to fall on its tail and explode before it starts moving.
  2. You need sufficient wing area and control surface ahead of the CoM without bringing the CoL ahead of the CoM. Your craft needs to be able to generate enough lift to nose-up as well as to tail-down.

OPT v1.9.9:

  • ASET and Raster Prop Monitor is no longer bundled! Please download their newest versions from their official download pages if you wish your IVA to have working instruments!! Links:
    Spoiler

    RasterPropMonitor, by Mihara, MOARdV

    ASET Prop pack, by alexustas

    ASET Avionics, by alexustas

  • Please delete original OPT folder, as some textures have changed to DDS format, leaving the original PNG format unused.
  • Support for Community Category Kit has been added! (allows OPT to have it's own tab in VAB/SPH)

Download from here if you haven't got it already: (many mods such as planetary base should already includes it)

    https://github.com/BobPalmer/CommunityCategoryKit

----------------------------------------------------------

Added new KH and H parts, see here!

All cockpit's IVA has been added.

J Science, H crew IVA is still being worked on...

----------------------------------------------------------

Change Log:

Spoiler
  • Fixed ModularFuelTank config file, MFT is now properly supported. *MFT will break OPT stock crafts because it automatically replaces all the preconfigured fuel tanks.
  • Added line vesselType = Probe to J drone cores, added line vesselType = Plane to all cockpits
  • Fixed K cockpit's light not working
  • J-92 engine (schramjet) no longer uses fuel from other 'staged' or 'stage disabled' fueltanks. (thanks Flashblade!)
  • Added IVA for J Crew (should hold 10 kerbals but due to some issue it still only hold 8, if anyone find out why, please let me know :))
  • Added IVA for ISL, ISP and Phoenix Cockpit
  • Added support for CCK (allows OPT to have it's own tab in SPH/VAB)
  • Changed Name tag for engines to OPT-E, wing parts to OPT-W for better organization when inside OPT's own category (for CCK)
  • Cockpit's reaction wheel torque re balanced (mostly reduced yaw and pitch).
  • Dark Drive's atmospheric output increased from 30% to 50%
  • OPT wing control surface lift increased by 50% (because many report that they are not effective)
  • Added Kh cargo, hollow fuselage, cargo ramp (6 parts)
  • Added H fuselage parts
  • Removed fuel options from J boarding ramp
  • All tanks using real fuel volume increased by 400%
  • Added nodes to K&KH 6m parts for h fuselage attachment

Please report any bugs on this page~

EDIT:

1st bug fix for OPT 1.9.9:

Fuselage H fueltank have no fuel switch, replace the files with original in OPT folder:

After installing OPT for the first time the other day, I gotta say I really love these parts! Here's my first OPT spaceplane, docked at my space casino!

Not quite a SSTO, needing 2 SRBs to get it going, but a very fun and easy flight for 32 tourists up to 500km orbit.

Made with some help from tweakscale (the main wings are actually winglets lol) and mk2expansion for the RCS nosecones.

did you delete your existing install before installing the new version? Those parts haven't been moved to legacy.

They should still show up on your existing ships, just not show up in the editors.

Question: Is the H Fuselage FuelTank supposed to carry fuel? I'm seeing the fuel switch options for the H Mounted Fuel tank but no way to make a pure H plane at the moment.

K.Yeon has a fix for that in his last post above. That's an error alright.
