Is KSP Ram Saver Trust able? Link To me it seems kinda dodgy. And sorry if this is the wrong forum for this.

If that source file is accurate all its doing is forceing openGL. You can do this without a mod by just changeing the comand line in the shortcut you use to launch KSP. Go read the thread on openGL saveing ram to find out about what that actualy does but in many cases it can reduce KSP's ram footprint a fair bit but can also cause some problems depending on your system.
