Can this please have its KerbalStuff metadata updated to .90? There is no reason a .cfg would not be .90 compatible...

I've updated my Taurus HCV patch to include the battery with built-in reaction wheel added in the latest update. (Actually, I've updated all three, but the only changes to the others were clearer comments.) The link in the first post still works.

ok, newbie time, but how do i install this? do i put the cfg in the folder with the example cfgs that tech manager has? speaking of witch, i was unable to find a link to the .90 version of tech manager. anyone have it?

I've got the Community Tech Tree folder in my Game Data folder, and other configs (KSPI, KW) in the CTT folder, and it all seems to work fine.

As they're MM configs, i don't think it actually matters very much where they go, as long as they're somewhere in Game Data.

I think the latest version of Tech Manager is 1.5; seems to work fine even if it still says [0.25] in the thread title.

I would like to report that KSPI Extended officially supports CTT

Can we get this added to the first page? I didn't see this until just now and it caused some confusion (mostly my fault).

Sorry if this has been answered before, I looked but can't find any reference to it.

So I guess some are left in there because they unlock further nodes?

I have pretty much all of your mods, big fan :P will that lead to some empty nodes, like (off the top of my head) Improved Nuclear Propulsion?

If you're running Community Tech Tree, but not all the mods that support it, you'll often run into empty nodes at the top of the tree. I suspect that Near-Future line of mods puts things in those nodes, but I don't know for certain.

ManTrelk, what I normally do if I change my mod set is to start a game and give myself 5000 science and 500000 money. Exit the game and search for 5000 in the save file and up it to 100000 and then search for 500000 and up that to 50000000. When I reload, I can upgrade my buildings and open all the tech tree 1 node at a time and learn what leads to what and if there are any dead-ends. Make a few notes about when to stop research and when to continue, and notice any blanks I have to open if something depends on it further down the tech tree. I then exit, then start my regular game. If I forget or lose my notes, I just reload the open save. I don't use this method to plan my path fully, just know where the dead-ends are.

I tried to integrate my mod into CTT in the OffworldManufacturing node. For testing purposes I created a KSp install with almost all parts removed. I started a new science game with enough science points to research the complete tree through persistant file editing. The problem I have now, that not all tech nodes are available. The complete line behind recycling is missing and nanolathing is the last node in the tree, as well as the only one in it's tier. What do I do wrong?

Edit: Found the problem. I had an invalid NEEDS clause in my definition. Now everything shows up as expected

I'm missing Hydroponics, Recycling just ends, and then Short term Habitations says it needs it but it doesnt exist

Say do you ever intend on updating the Community Tech tree? For KSPI, I would like to have additional technodes for the Fusion Techs. Also existing technodes, like fusionRockets are much to low in the techtree, making the tech tree unbalanced. Note that KSP 1.0 , the Techtree will change , so an update is CTTT is required anyway

Squad completely changed the tech tree stuff (I'm told it is now moddable via config files, but haven't looked into it myself). So TechManager is most likely obsolete, and I'd assume CTT will move over to use the stock method.

... but I'm not involved in CTT at all, so take what I say with a dose of salt. :)

That's to be expected given the changes to how the stock tech tree is loaded. On the bright side, it's supposed to be possible to mod the new tree with no more than .cfg files and perhaps ModuleManager. So this should be the last serious break.

Someone please add exisitng CTT technodes and release so we can get our Mods running again ASAP!

I'm glad that the tech tree is quite a bit easier to mod now; I've always wanted to kind of add the end-game mods from CTT to something like the earlier nodes of the KSAEA tech tree rebalance. Do we know if it's possible to add new tech nodes with the new system, or how complex that functionality is?

EDIT: Having briefly scanned the .cfg files, it doesn't seem especially difficult to add new nodes, but some sort of GUI editor would be nice instead of having to edit the cfg, save it, and start up KSP to see if the positioning is correct. So there might be a place for something like TechManager in 1.0+.

I m not especially happy about the new stock tech tree layout, it seems to be worse than the previous stock tree and shifts around existing nodes for its own sake, instead of just adding some.

For example command capsules is a dead end now, construction related nodes spread out more than before, the later unmanned nodes seem to only contain one probe core each, just a different size (which makes no sense for 1000 science or so), while nuclear is still at 300 science.

From the SETI perspective, there is little benefit from doing the workload to adjust to the new stock basis, without having any benefit from it in terms of gameplay improvements. Especially with the prospect that squad might shift nodes around again for no good reason. I can not see anything in the layout of the new tree that justifies shifting nodes around from the previous tree instead of just adding to it in terms of nodes, quite the contrary. While I m willing to change for improvements, I m really unhappy about having to change now for no improvements at all (looking at the layout of the new stock tree); just because someone felt the need to shuffle stuff around for 1.0 for its own sake (eg scienceTech later and new node basicScience at the exact same position as the old scienceTech).
