I often use ant engines to give my rovers extra boost or the ability to fly.

The problem with the ants are poor ISP, its so poor the ant looses over the 48-7S if you use more than 2 oscar tanks.

What he said. Although I reworked the 48-7S' Isp to match the 24-77 in my save so it is far more reasonable.

I find the ant engine really useful, since it can give some 3km/s delta-v from just 30 liquid fuel, with less mass than a 48-7S. The low ISP isn't that important when you can make a probe with a mass of 600kg, as saving mass tends to give better results than having a high ISP.

The smallest possible craft (about 500kg) with 30 liquid fuel and an Ant engine has 2570m/s d-v.

Same craft with the 48-7S has 2750m/s. And the 48-7S is cheaper than the Ant.

i use them in cargo bay doors i make- they are really flexible it can stack 5-6 of them for a 2.5 meter door
