RAM: 4GB (3.5gb available due to 32bit system)

Looks like you are running out of memory.

That's exactly the issue.

Self-help thread says the game needs 2GB with 4GB recommended. I've got a total of 3.5gb accessible.

If it helps, all previous versions of the game have run perfectly fine on my system. This is the first one that hasn't.

If it generated a settings.cfg, reduce the texture quality there. If it didn't, try to free up some more RAM.

Also, are you using Windows XP 32-bit or 64-bit? Programs on 32-bit Windows are limited to 2 GB, not 3.5 GB – that's for 32-bit programs on 64-bit Windows.

I've already lowered the graphics quality right down. Makes no difference, the game still crashes.

Also kinda annoying that the game is ignoring the settings.cfg screen resolution settings, as that makes me wonder what else in the file the game is ignoring.

I am also having issues with the game crashing within 45 seconds after main menu loads.clean install no mods on my 3930k, 16gb, win7-64bit, gtx780ti. Im not getting any error messages. It worked fine until I updated to beta via Steam. Very dissapointing because it is an awesome game.

I too am crashing about 45 seconds into the load. Clean install, raised Virtual Memory, no mods installed at all. Never had an issue until the update. Please help.

My game also crashes running a completely stock install (removed ksp folder and did new Steam install for 0.90). I click the executable (either 32 bit or 64 bit) and it goes to a white screen for approximately 7 seconds and then I get a crash error.

Previously played version .25 without serious problems (just memory issues like everyone else running many mods).

Just verified the files on Steam - reported several thousand files with errors. I've never had a problem with Steam downloads before. Hopefully re-downloading will solve the start-up crash.

Runs well after repairing / replacing damaged files via Steam. Pity the error reports on crash weren't clearer.

Also crashing for me every time I try to load. Approximately halfway through the initial file load.

Had no issues with previous versions. Was so excited about the beta but now can't play at all.

EDIT: Solved. Changed texture quality setting to 1 in cfg file. Up and running again!

I too am having this issue. I did not purchase mine through steam though. I got in on ground level and now this game is completely broken. Game comes up to launcher screen. I have changed settings to low and the game does not launch at all. What gives?
