I wonder what their source of energy is since it doesn't seem to involve a need for food or oxygen. Radiation exposure isn't a problem for them either. Are they silicon based?

While there isnt really a resource system in game, there are references to both food and oxygen in game. There are compartments in the ships that refence snacks, food, not food etc. and jet engines only function in oxygen based atmospheres.

Kerbals are plants. Reproducing via Mitosis.

So their main Power source would be Sunlight and Rocketfuel I guess

If they were silicon based, they'd be even more prone to radiation damage because silicon forms pathetic bonds in organic compounds, compared to carbon.

There isn't a valid explanation of their physiology. They're not plants, as they can live in darkness forever. They defy the laws of nature.

Kerbals are basically Ideas that exist within their own thoughts.. They essentially create themselves, defying the law of causality.. they are fed by more thought, hence the dreams of going to space fuels their existence. lol

They seem to photosynthesize, but they do need whatever is in their atmosphere, either that, or the only thing in space that harms them is rapid decompression. The snacks are just nice to have. Their heads, however must be made of Bouncyus Metaliicus, a mixture of rubber and titanium, allowing them to fall from orbit, fly at terminal velocity, land on their head, and bounce. They could be Green Groots, rapidly regrowing themselves as they burn up in the upper atmosphere. The final possibility is that Kerbals are magic.

I've always surmised that they photosynthesise. However, I want to know how they mentally sustain themselves. I have one on a station who's been there for 11 years alone, with no new contact or supplies. Not only is he still alive, he follows orders perfectly without question. No mental degradation from eleven years of silence and isolation. HOW.

Umm... They could be in a biological relationship. Like us and hundreds info bacteria types. Their bacteria just makes them look green, and acts like plants providing food for Kerbals and Kerbaks providing food for it.

I'm pretty sure they have organs to turn dark energy, quantum vacuum virtual plasma and neutrino radiation into usable energy.

I am actually working on drawing an anatomy drawing of a kerbal the only thing I had problems with is what to base the guts/muscles, and bones off of... because idk if they are plants are not... and that could make a big difference in what their bone structure is made of
