This'll probably be one of the stranger ones you all hear, but.. launch an N1 rocket with this song then get back to me..

(mind your volume)

The music video actually has a Soyuz launching their stage into space. Pretty cool.. Ive always liked Dethklok. Its the only deathmetal I can stand. REALLY good instrumentation.

I google "Space Music" and picks one.

Talking about music to launch rockets in KSP, how do you play the music? Do you just play it in background, or is there someway for the music to play dynamically through what you do? Like music while on launch pad, music in atmospheric flight, music in space, music on EVA (space/surface), etc?

Sorry for this shameless plug, but I have a KSP music thread.

Some of it is meh, some of it is pretty good. All of it is composed with KSP in mind and played by me, along with other Forum-goers.

Bagelrabbit, that's good stuff! Sometimes I enjoy it when not in KSP.

Here's my KSP playlist: Kerbals in Spaaaaace!

Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the Sky

The Crystal Method - High Roller, Magic Carpet Ride, Vapor Trail

Linkin Park - Session

ELO - Steppin' Out, The Whale, Starlight

Daft Punk - Solar Sailer

Pink Floyd - Astronomy Domine

The Police - Walking on the Moon

many of the lovely tunes by bFusion/Abstraction:

and this particular version of Beethoven's Symphony no 7 - 2

I usually stick to stuff like Holst's Planets suite, film music in the vein of Two steps from hell or nonintrusive electronica, which fits space surprisingly well :)

Or, like, right now? I'm currently testing rockets to this:

Before you're put off by the name and imagery, the music isn't that extreme really. More like regular heavy metal with an occult twist.

Edit: Also this. Chill as heck, makes you forget all those launchpad explosions :P

Kevin Macleod's Five Armies is more or less mandatory as my launch music. It and some more dramatic tunes might get pulled out for more exciting landings too though.

My actual in-space music playlist is 55-odd songs so I'm not listing it, but drew it from:

Portal and Half Life

Eve Online

Battlestar Galactica

Bioshock

Final Fantasy

Mass Effect

XCOM

Halo

Firefly

Deus Ex

and then for non-soundtrack musicians it's:

the Faunts

Working for a Nuclear Free

Kevin Macleod

Taylor Davis

Faithless

The Doors

Fujiya & Miyagi

Massive Attack

And (obviously) David Bowie's Space Oddity

Mostly spacey ambient, alternative, or classical music. Also a couple of extremely slowed down sounds of breaking cups or lighting matches and stuff like that.
