Weird Space Center Camera bug

Just wanted to ask if anyone had experience this problem before

So, I have bunch of mods installed, mainly some parts pack like KW Rocketry, OKS/MKS. GUIs, tools like Mechjeb, KAC, Final Frontier. and some plugins like ModuleManager, Karbonite, Regolith. KJR, KCT and TAC Life Support. anyway you'll see most of them on the toolbar in the screenshot

My game doesn't crash due to low memory. Every mod is updated to the latest version

but sometimes when loading a saved game the space center will look like this

i can't click anything except the toolbar icons or the menu button to go back to main menu. I can't move the camera either.

when i go back to the main menu and reload the game, sometimes it is still there sometimes it's fixed, so its sorta random. Anyway once the normal space center is back it doesn't become a problem anymore for the rest of the gameplay, that is until I quit to main menu again and load the game(again it's a random chance).

Yep, it's a bug, though no one has worked out how to cause it yet, if someone can come up with reproduction steps on a new stock game it'll help get this fixed

Thanks for the answer, I was worried that I have a bad mod or something on my end, anyway I will try to know how to cause this thing and will report back if I am successful.

Okay, an update, I finally figured out how to cause this thing, at least it worked everytime I tried it. I am playing in fullscreen windowed mode, and it seems to happen when you timingly do an alt-tab while the game is starting to load a scene or a save.

How to reproduce.

1. Go to main menu

2. Try to load save

3. As soon as you double-click the save file(or pressed the continue button), alt tab out of the game

4. Alt tab back in, upon loading the space center camera will be bugged out like in the picture

I always alt-tab frequently when I play games and It didn't happen with previous versions as far as i can remember,

Sorry for the mild necro, but I've been getting this too after OOM crashes, I thought it was due to something with the crash rather than changing active window while the save was loading.

I had this too, It can be worked around pretty easily, but is annoying long-term.

I think the problem is switching out of the KSP screen while the save is loading.. It stops when I don't.

Is there a fix for this?

1.0.5 - still not fixed. Its not that annoying though. Was before I found this thread so thanks to all of you.

As I use many mods, 1.0.5 crashes because of OOM quite frequently. Like every 6 or 8 switches (to the KSC from space or to the launchpad from the VAB). Some of it occasionally breaks my savegames so it simply does not load properly because of the weird KSC camera bug. I've just tried to watch the whole loading process without alt-tabbing right from launching KSP and till the savegame is loaded. I can confirm that this workaround really works. Yesterday I tried to load the save like.. 30 times? And this workaround magically helped.

I play in windowed mode.

It's a problem with the input locks. If you switch away at the wrong moment, the game locks out all input and the result is this camera angle. If you open the debug menu and click "show input locks," you can clear them out. That will fix the view and allow you to keep playing.

I usually just start-up a save, or make a new one, And it's stuck at ksc.

Here's a simple fix.

One of your Input Locks is stuck. Hit Alt-F12, and you will see a button that says something along the lines of "Show Input Lock Stack". Click that, and there should be a button that says something like "Clear" or "Clear Stack" or something. Click that, and you will have control back again.
