Kerbol Planet Pack for Kopernicus Version 1.0.2

Recommended Posts

I am no longer updating this due to bad textures and bad planets. Send me a message if you want to take it over.

Do you think the Kerbol system doesn't have enough planets ? Do you want more planets ? Then this planet pack is for you.

The Kerbol Planet Pack add no less than 10 new celestial bodies to KSP, including two brand new gas giants !

Description of the planets

This mod add 2 gas giants, 1 moon for Duna, 1 post-eeloo rocky planet, 1 atmospheric planet near Jool, and several other bodies.

No pictures for now, I will try to add some later.

Cloy

Cloy is a rocky planet near Jool, with an atmosphere and high gravity.

Krozen

Krozen is a gigantic gas giant orbiting past Eeloo.

Relenia

Relenia is the second and new moon of Duna.

Reser

Reser is a desertic planet near Eve.

Roge

Roge is a rogue planet very far away from Kerbol. Lot of Delta-V.

Plany

Plany is one of Roge's moon, with kinda high mountains.

Rolk

Rolk is the second moon of Roge, with an atmosphere.

Roki

Roki is a red rock just near Kerbol. One side is very uneven.

Questions

I am anticipating some questions here.

Do this requires PlanetFactory ?

No. It only requires Kopernicus core.

Can I do SCIENCE ! on the new planets ?

Unfortunately, there is no custom sciences reports, but I will work on it.

Are some planets hard to reach ?

Roki can be kinda hard to reach, and Roge is very very very far away. I recommend a warp drive mod.

What are the flightglobalindexes used by this mod ?

I will use flightbglobalindexes between 1500 and 1600.

Download and installation

1. Download Kopernicus core here :

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/102363-Kopernicus-Core-Common-API-Modpack-for-Planet-Creators

2. Download the pack from this link :

https://www./?7pe4auujld2e7bj

3. Put the "GameData" folder in the KSP folder. Done !

How to make this pack work with other packs :

RSS use a config file to load the planets, so you need to manually add the text in the config file or it won't work.

1. Go to the "RealSolarSystem" config file in "GameData/RealSolarSystem".

2. Open it and scroll down.

3. Look for "Reser".

4. Copy everything below "Reser".

5. Paste it at the bottom of the "RealSolarSystem" config file given with another planet pack.

6. Done !

Changelog

Version 1.0.0 : Initial Release

Version 1.0.1 : No longer redistribute RSS

Version 1.0.2 : Removed Runo and Klitan because of bad textures

Thanks to :

_Augustus_ for making the Kopernicus core plugin.

The mod doesn't redistribute RSS. Only the config file for the new planets.

Have fun with the new planets and post screenshots !

Weird....but there is the color file in the textures. Could the problem come from the fact that _diff and _color texture are the same ?

EDIT : It work fine for me. Also, the very uneven terrain could potentially prevent seeing the colors correctly.

Your screenshots really don't show the mod well, your computer is horrible and your monitor is so low-res and old that the planets look like potatoes in your screenshots. You should ask someone else to do them.

Sorry for criticism but I think you'd do better that way.

I'm always happy to see new planet packs but what the heck is up with your resolution/aspect ratio?

Edit: By the way, could you package your mod in zip rather than rar. I don't know if I'm alone in feeling this way but I really dislike the rar format. Zip has much better support, it has better features, is easier to deal with and the kind of files you are distributing don't benefit from rar compression anyway. It is a small gripe, I know. But it takes two seconds to compress the file in zip and upload it and then you save everyone who downloads the mod in the future from the little extra hassle.

Yeah the resolution of the planets isn't very good. But I plan to actually double or triple the resolution and details in the future.

And Augustus, it's not the computer who is horrible, it's could actually be the planet texture. I need to redo them, especially Klitan and Runo. They will be removed in the next update.

It was the heightmap I believe and I don't think Kopernicus supports heightmaps like PlanetFactory.

It was actually PQSOblate, which I suppose can be done with Kittopia but I haven't messed with it yet because MY STINKIN PLANETS DON'T LOAD ON MY NEW COMPUTER! (No, no mistakes in it or anything)
