Constant, random crashes

Recommended Posts

First, I am running the game in 32 bit. My specs are as follows... Win 7, Alien ware Aurora Intel i7-4820 CPU, 3.7GHz 16 gigs Ram. I have 43 mods installed, none showing conflicts. When I try to add the Environmental Visuals for the clouds it was working at one point, now it causes a constant crash, so I un-installed. When I play the game, I can get one launch, then when I finish and change screens it crashes out to Desktop. Here is the error log.

mono.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)

Error occurred at 2015-01-21_185616.

Write to location 00000000 caused an access violation.

Memory allocation error, could be just running out of RAM, but your output_log.txt could tell us more.

Only so much RAM can be accessed by a 32bit program, more info here, so KSP can't use all of your 16gigs.

We're hoping Unity5 will solve the problems as it supports 64bit more fully, it even has a 64bit editor which will make dealing with bugs in 64bit builds possible.

Google drive is saying your file is inaccessible, you may have to make it public or host it elsewhere.

Okay the very last thing before the crash appears to be the final frontier addon:

FF: destroying Final Frontier

Crash!!!

But that may be caused by a lack of memory:

DynamicHeapAllocator out of memory - Could not get memory for large allocationCould not allocate memory: System out of memory!
Trying to allocate: 16384004B with 32 alignment. MemoryLabel: Texture

FF was definitely the last thing active at the time, so I'd test without it if possible, but it looks like it's a memory issue.

Something else to try though would be Active Texture Manager to reduce the load, I didn't see it in your log.

Thank you. I will go try that out now

Thank you again Sal, taking out the FF and adding the Active Texture Manager not only fixed my crash issue, but I was able to install the Environmental Visual Enhancements AND my load time has been cut in half!
