Whats the stupidest name you've given to one of your ships?

Sometimes I'm just testing a design idea, but it turns out to perform the whole mission. Then what are you going to do? Revert the whole flight just to change the name? So I have at times landed on distant worlds with ships named things like "Version 2b."

My last "Full Tour" save used the "Duna" Explorer for almost all the outer world missions... it was designed as a light shuttle to 'survey' Duna and Ike, and ended up being sent out over and over again.

Perhaps this image will explain why I feel it's a poor name:

NB: This isn't one of my penny-saving, kilogram-shaving well-calculated designs. It's basically a copy of a ship type I made when I was learning KSP and is a general "go-to" design I build when I'm feeling too lazy to math it up. Heh.

This is only the upper stages of "The Fail Whale"; I only used a partial picture for the same reason that I gave it it's name. That is, that if I didn't launch it immediately after moving to the launch pad, it would flop over on its side like a breaching whale and explode. It also had a tendency to do this early on in flights.

You know you can rename the ship in-flight, right?

"Kraken Bait"

It was a very large probe composed of 4 different parts that would dock using Klaw... I had a contract to get a C class asteroid into Moho orbit, you see.

From what I had experimented/read about the Klaw, I had the feeling my design would summon the Kraken a few times. And it did. Numerous time.

hmmm...

Sometimes I rename recoverable lifter stages to random characters on the way back down, but I'll have to say the dumbest "real" name I've ever given a ship was my Tylo lander: "Magic Lola", which I picked in honor of a spambot that tried to reach me on Skype. That and my recent SSTO shuttle "Clavier", which doesn't sound stupid unless you know French (it means "keyboard").

Oh, and once I named a Minmus ship "Binmus or Must".

I think the name explains it all..

"That little thing that reaches space but then runs out of fuel and try's to get the rest of orbit with ion engines attempt 39 Mk.63 version 11"

EDIT: now it's called "That little thing that reaches space but then runs out of fuel and try's to get the rest of orbit with ion engines attempt 39 Mk.63 version 20 (final version)"

I tend to be rather po-faced with mine. But a while back I did have a Brown Smear series of rockets.

And you could say that naming a rocket the Macbeth was tempting fate. Quite a lot of Kerbals died on its first mission too.

Out of frustration I named one "Kracken Fodder"
