It should still work.

Example: Poster 1: 3+

Poster 2: 4

Pretty obvious I added.

I agree with you but a short while back it was brought back from +67

I dont know the reason behind rule 4, but there is a reason for it I guess

There is a reason, of course. Imagine what happens if 5+ positives and 5+ negatives clash. Some people respond fast, some people respond slower. Numbers get mixed up hard. Some people try to edit their numbers really fast after making a mistake (don't do that). Chaos ensues. People call for GMs to sort out the mess. GMs scratch their heads trying to figure out what the hell actually happened.

Having a + or - sign as a clarification of the poster's operation helps immensely in a situation like that. Therefore, it was made to be a part of the official rules, which in turn means it can be used as grounds for a revert. Catching an invalid operation (based on any rule) and using it later for a massive blow to the other side is part of the game, and a fun one if I do say so myself.

Also, the win for negatives has been evaluated by a majority of the GM team as a valid one, congratulations. OP will be updated as soon as RainDreamer gets here.
