EVA issue

Every time I try to turn on the jet pack. All the thrusters fire at once and my kerbal goes out of control. I have the same problem for thrusters on my ships I can't figure out how to use just one thrusters at a time when ever I turn them on they all fire at once.

These are just guesses...

For the Kerbal, often, after I let go of a ladder and turn on RCS, all of the thrusters will fire briefly to orient the Kerbal, but then stop. Does this happen or do your thrusters continue firing indefinitely?

For the ship, is it possible that you have one of the SAS buttons (i.e. prograge, retrograde, normal, anti-normal, etc.) selected? The SAS system uses RCS to control the ship and because of something with precision (someone else can probably explain that much better than I can) it can never quite achieve the selected orientation so it continually fires the thrusters. Try switching to the default "stability-assist" button to see if that helps.

Methinks it's a trim problem: Try hitting the key combo "Alt" + "X" to disable all trim.

Are you using mods, namely MechJeb? It's autopilot is very generous with RCS thrusters.

Sorry I never replied that save file blew up so their is no game left. I had to reinstall. Thanks for your responses hopefully my new install works normally.
