Aaaand the two final product. The second still has editor teeth on it. Apologies. The real final version of that is like 100Mb, and imgur throws a fit when I try to upload it.

I've only just stumbled on this thread! Have my late congratulations!

This thread is experiencing Happiness overload! You are awesome, dude. Keep bringing joy into people's lives.

Following your example, I'm gonna have to do something nice for my own significant other. There's much too long of an interval between Valentines and her birthday (September)...

My new date is a big fan of "My Little Pony". While I remember that from the time of my sister growing up, while we were still kids, and vaguely aware of the fandom out there, I wasn't particularly aware of it. So, just so I can say I at least read from the same page in her favorite book, I watched the first two episodes of season one.

Very curious. It seems like they completely and utterly rebranded it. And I have to admit, I wasn't expecting anything other than soul-saturating saccharine sweetness that made my bones rot away. That's there, but not in overdose amounts, but what surprised me is that there's an actual plot to it. Moral lessons. A point. Well, might as well queue up episode three.

Hell of a thing. Here I am, thirty-something, watching My Little Pony. Even starting to get some of the references I've seen made by fans. And I'm not having an altogether bad time watching it. Hrm.

I messaged her (she's at office, I am not) and said that if I had had a daughter, I'd want her to watch this show. Then I thought about it some more. Why not the boys? They can take those same lessons. And it would be interesting, from a socialogical standpoint, if the two genders of one generation had something fun in common in the earlier years, where there is usually a very harsh division. It'll be interesting to see what comes of it.

And now I understand that her messanger icon is Rainbow Dash.

'Gratz WJ, hope things continue to go well.

My sons (7 and 10 at the time) went through a spell of being hooked on MLP. It did hve some morals to it, from what I saw from peripheral vision. At least it's not CareBears.

Never knew you could draw (just seen your videos), great skills! Have a good time, hope all goes well!

Not I, haha! I hired two artists to do the works for me. I have great appreciation for their field, and know how hard it can be to get PAYING work. "But you'll get exposure!" So I found two artists and I paid them for the work. :)

Thank you so much for appreciating artists' labor!

Mini-rant: My wife is a classically trained opera singer with a master's degree in music. She just quit a job singing at a restaurant because they stopped allowing her to accept tips ("it looks too much like panhandling") and refused to increase her pay (minimum wage) to compensate. She has tons of stories of being expected to sing at events for free or for a token amount (No offense but $20 and a beer is great for a friend lending you his truck for a move, not for a professional entertainer who studied their trade for 15 years). Especially considering artists with less experience, it is immensely difficult to convince anyone that their time, labor, and product is worth anything at all.

I think I will put my money where my mouth is and follow your example by commissioning something as well... I might create a thread here in the space lounge to share the result and give "exposure" to some deserving artists as well. Bravo for being an inspiration to this community in so many ways.

Argh. It's official. I am totally, completely, and irrevocably in love with this lady. ^^ Though I have not yet told her this. The proclamation can wait for the ideal moment. I think she already knows anyway. Just wanna do it *right*.

She wants to get into Warhammer tabletop. So I'm studying it. I think I'm gonna get a couple miniatures (Dang, this hobby is EXPENSIVE) and paint them up for her. I'm thinking pink armor with white highlights . Near the pistol holsters will be a blue balloon, yellow balloon, blue balloon. I will name her army Pinkamena Pandemonium. For the mechanized vehicles, the decal will be Pinkie Pie's party cannon. Thoughts?

#EDIT: Almost forgot the warning. Folks, I'm giving you a heads up right now. If I ever design a way to stretch out a moment of time to infinity, I'm hitting that button the next time I embrace her. You'll all be stuck as well. So make sure you're always doing something fun for when that comes. You hear me?

I was in to 40k for a while, ended up making most of my units myself because gamesworkshop will try their damnedest to wring every last cent out of every kit they sell. So yeah, it can be expensive if you buy all the legit things. Hobby Lobby has some army guys that are only slightly less than scale, I used them to make .... Raptor Calvary, and some other units, a long time ago

edit: didnt know the forums censored the short name for national socialism. interesting.

Nope, no sketches at all. I've never Warhammered tabletop style. Though I played the online MMO. Totally different, obviously. I wouldn't mind getting into it. Looks like helluva lotta fun. I just have the idea in my brain, put in there just today.

Build her a huge, heart-shaped rocket. Ladies love huge, heart-shaped rockets. :D (now that I think about it, I should build my gf a huge, heart-shaped rocket)

If it is an upside-up heart rocket, it would not be aerodynamically efficient, and likely will tumble. If it is an upside-down heart rocket, it would be a spade.

Now, if you build something like nyan cat rocket with rainbow coloured rocket engine exhaust, that would be lovely. And arguably more aerodynamic.

Give us a head up before you do that. I want to hug my significant other as well.

I was thinking more along the lines of a pancake lifter, but instead of a circle it would look like a heart (when viewed from top). I didn't say it has to be aerodynamic or fly well :D (not that my gf would really know the difference, and even if she did, I think she'd appreciate the thought more than function)

Well, there's a working

, so a nyan cat would definitely be possible. Anyone knows any rainbow colouring mods for exhaust? :D

This. If you go fast enough, that is.

I was just joking, but this just got dead serious. Starting KSP right meow.

Also, I don't think I ever congratulated to Whackjob. Congratulations and may it all go well :)

Huzzah. Another victory for masculinity.

I'm serious. A man keeps his wife, a wife keeps her commitment, and another man keeps his honor. You may not have the thrills of romance, but you still have a life. Grieve, adjust, and keep on living. Otherwise, you'll never know who you could have met.

No. There is no fight. There is no game. She made her decision. And I will respect it.

A good call. You're a top human Mr Wackjob.

(But I think the fight Jumpster may have been meaning, is life. So, you know, keep at it.)
