    Still no, and 10char.

It still hasn't been got I'm afraid. Clue: It's not anything specifically military.

    Bzzzt. (That means wrong btw)
  4. Confirmation it's intentional? (Ie post by a dev saying so?) It always felt more like a bug with me.My guess is it's related to code that allows slow enough movement to be treated as zero, in order to go to the space centre when your ship is landed. Especially important for watercraft that in theory would never truly stop, but even a craft on land might wobble and take a while to fully settle down.

Indeed. Good guess, but it's not shells.
  6. Proliferating options makes balancing career more difficult for Squad. With one stock experience they have one thing to playtest and think about. If you start asking the player, do you want resources? Do you want classic scale, new scale, or real scale solar system? Do you want re-entry damage? And so, suddenly Squad have to playtest and balance all the multiplying combinations.

Up north. In the ocean or a lake, Protests and questions are all I'll make, But in a tank or from a gun, The war I'll ensure will be won.
  8. IANAL, but a nickname isn't likely to be copyrightable. Though it may be trademarked, and other legal issues may arise if the intent or effect is to impersonate someone else.
  9. The name of this red-head pyromaniac guy. He's a nobody really.
  10. Whenever you attach a part, other than a strut connector or fuel line, you can only attach it to one other part. That's a limitation in the way the game handles ships, as a "tree" of parts. So you cannot fit an SRB to a pair of decouplers.
  11. I got round this by simply not updating. Still playing .23.5 and proud of it.
  12. Walrus be, you cannot. Walrus born, be you must. Yoda, how to?
  13. I'm going with Boeing and SpaceX. Boeing are the big megacorp and are bound to get a contract I think, and SpaceX seem a little further along with their design and I think will be seen as lower-risk in financial terms.
  14. I set some sort of abort procedure up, unless I forget. Sometimes using the LES or some sepratrons, sometimes just with the upper stage. And if I'm launching things that are asking to go wrong I send them up uncrewed.
  15. Right-shift is normally the default modifier key on Linux. The wiki mentions the Windows key may also become set as the modifier key. And if you've copied a config file from KSP on Windows, Alt will be your modifier key, which tends to cause issues on Linux since Alt-Click usually drags the window.
  16. I second regex's suggestion. Just don't go to the Mun or Minmus. Pretend those dirty rotten Kerbiets have beaten you to them and the way to regain some honour is to go further. You won't strictly speaking need custom biomes for it. If you don't have them you'll get a somewhat stiffer and more varied challenge, going further with less than you otherwise would.
  17. There's no reason to think we'll have an unexpectedly long gap between updates pre-1.0. Now if something like the Unity 5 port does take Squad the best part of a year then so be it. Once it hits 1.0, I'd far rather Squad just kept up with bugfixes and optimisations and focussed on their Next Big ThingTM, whether that's KSP2 or something completely different.
  18. How. And don't call me Walrus. Surely you're joking, Mr Feynman?
  19. If you want to visit other places on Kerbin, you've probably tried rockets and missed, and tried planes and crashed. KSP's dodgy aerodynamics mean wings actually work better in water, but they break easily if they go through the surface. So the quickest way to explore Kerbin is with a submarine. Just remember you need to transfer water into your tanks to dive; to do this you need a fuel line running from the ballast tank into empty space.
  20. D'oh. I didn't notice they were in two different posts!
  21. Well in a medium a particle moving faster than the speed of light in that medium (but slower than c) produces Cherenkov radiation, which is essentially a "light boom".
  22. Ah, that makes sense. The wheel thing I was mentioning is on a different vehicle.
