  1. hi, yesterday i tried the Asteroid redirect scenario, part 2 the thing is, when i was reentering kerbin with the asteroid things just overheated and blew up i know that scenario was designed for pre-release so it may be in need of some rework for the new thermal and drag effects. anyway i would like to ask if any of you could try it out and check if it's just me noobing arround or my question may have a little bit of reason
  2. The best way to learn orbital rendezvous is to practice. Launch a station with 4-5 docking ports. Make it so that you can attach another station and still have space near all ports. then launch any kind of ship. small, big, probe, manned, unbalanced, refueler. try, fail, try again until you learn. before you know it, you are making orbital rendezvous without even placing a node
  3. Hi, i believe i've been hit by the kraken. Its my first time so take it easy on me My ship started to wobble a lot so i though: "Lets crash the game and record the screen in case i happens again" And it happened after quickloading. Here is the clip https://www.dropbox.com/s/4dorc32g6y73pxk/Wobbler.mkv?dl=0 The second minute is the worst. Im not stuck cause if i do the normal load it doesnt wobble (at least i havent seen it) its only after quickloading that it apears
  4. KSP is not supposed to be realistic!
  5. Pressure (symbol: p or P) is the force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pressure The pressure "felt" by the airconditioner inlet is X times the force a single molecule do. To double the pressure in the inlet either the molecule has double the force, or there are 2 molecules. Thicker air means more molecules, not a direct increase of heat. (if there are 3 molecules at 30ºC and if you insert another 3 molecules at 30º the system is at 30º, not higher.) If i tell you that air molecules are rubber spheres and the aircraft is pushing through them, is it clear that the problem is the drag those spheres cause and not the "move away"?
  6. ^^^^^^^^^^ THIS! ^^^^^^^^^^ And doing the best they can is more than enough
  7. Thank you Squad Please do your best
  8. The ServiceBay uses a bubble to detect if a part is inside or outside. Taking the 1.25m as example, it has a "lookupRadius = 0.9" . This means that this service bay will look for parts which may be inside in a bubble of 90% of its size. Rescaling to Kerbin size, the 1.25 meters Bay will look up in a bubble of 1.125 meters. Notice i said bubble. It will look up in every direction. Most parts have some of its model inside other models. Like the Radial Chutes and the MK1. the Chutes will have some of its size inside the MK1, otherwise it would look awful cause it would look like 2 separate parts bonded by magic. So that tiny part of the radial chutes that touch the bubble will tell the game that they are inside the Bay when actually they are outside. And there is little you can do about it because: 1) If the chute model gets thinner, it wont fit all other parts 2) If the bubble gets smaller it wont cover the entire Bay I ask the modders to correct me if im wrong, but i believe this is the simplest way to have it implemented ---- updated ---- Tested the ServiceBay with lookupradius of 0.9, 1 and 2. chutes still working. Will test orientation later
  9. This article was an explanation of what and why. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/content/326-Beyond-Beta
  10. In my opinion... -Squad could have made a 0.91 Beta. I've been arround since 0.23 and instead of the usual 6 months gap, this time we had a 4 month gap between the Beta and the release. I read the article about why Squad decided to do this and i understand it, but still, i would prefer to do a longer gap between Beta and release. -The comunity is overcriticizing. In some cases i even sense some stupidity. Squad is programing day and night for the past 3-4 years to bring you this game and you are complaining cause you saw a little bug? Really? That atitude is of someone who never programed not even the "Hello World" of any language. -The progress i have witnessed since .23 is huge. I saw the video of Unite 2013 and i spent a whole hour with my mouth open. It is just beautiful. Please watch it. What Squad acoplished is huge. Still, you complain about minor bugs. What have you done to help? What was the last bug report you submited? If you dont want to help, then please, dont come complaining. -KSP is not supposed to be like real life. Its a game and you should be having fun. The Kraken, which so many talk about, still lives not because of those who got frustrated with it, but the ones who made fun of it. And if you're not having fun you are not playing it right. -Last but absolutely not least, The aero system, the minning, the fairings, the tech tree, and even Miss Valentina, these are great features. And because of so many of them in this little time, congratulations. And thank you.
  11. If it was only 3 cfg files. There are 39 parts with PhysicsSignificance from which two are commented and one is set to "0" I made a cfg file to work with moduleManager, it patches all but the strutConector and fuelLines https://www.dropbox.com/s/0b5epr9ou6ui899/KaezanPhys.cfg?dl=0 (Tell me if its not working)
  12. I Removed the first in each cfg. you dont have to worry much because it is just variable definition.
  13. Trying to find every part with physicsSignificance i found out that the 3 ladder parts have duplicate PhysicsSignificance \GameData\Squad\Parts\Utility\ladderRadial\ladderRadial.cfg (2 hits) Line 7: PhysicsSignificance = 1 Line 25: PhysicsSignificance = 1 \GameData\Squad\Parts\Utility\ladderTelescopic\ladderTelescopic.cfg (2 hits) Line 8: PhysicsSignificance = 1 Line 26: PhysicsSignificance = 1 \GameData\Squad\Parts\Utility\ladderTelescopicBay\ladderTelescopicBay.cfg (2 hits) Line 8: PhysicsSignificance = 1 Line 26: PhysicsSignificance = 1
  14. Kerbal planes are not supposed to be realistic. they are supposed to be almost-realistic, at best.
  15. if you dont have a backup of .90 the only way is to ask someone who has it. i dont think SQUAD will release any .90 or older versions from now on
  16. you can deactivate the wobbling camera on settings (0%) About Orbit... try again slightly different
  17. Lucky You The game doesnt need to be in any specific folder. Example: 2 Partitions [E: F:] KSP installed under E:\Games\KSP\ copy-paste the contents of \KSP\ folder to F:\Yomama\ and the game still works
  18. In KSP the concept of day and night only happens because the "day" side is under light and the "night" side is in shadows. for biomes to give different amounts of science i believe they would have to be rewritten.
  19. Dont forget to specify your system settings. Im using an i5, Radeon 7670M, 4GB ram with Win7, and openGL actually worked worst than Dx9/11
  20. I believe that the checkbox changes one of the variables i show as false
  21. Hi, I was wondering what might cause KSP to make a connection to the USA, even with all the options disabled. connection proof: Ligações TCP=TCP connections Filtrados por KSP= Filtered by KSP That ip is from somewhere in Chantilly, Virginia. CALL_HOME = False DONT_SEND_IP = True SEND_PROGRESS_DATA = False CHECK_FOR_UPDATES = False
  22. Version 1.3 doesn't work with 0.90 Beta, it tries to load everything (fuel tanks, wings, etc). version 1.1 works with Beta even thou it creates a warning.
