  1. I've made a few posts, but it occurred to me that I hadn't done this. So... Hi! My first version of KSP was/is 23.5 bought during a Steam sale and since liberated from Steamedpowered (discovered you can just start the EXE without using Steam's client) It's like the best parts of "Orbiter" (windows) and "Simple Rockets" (android) had a baby! I really enjoy it. I have added MechJeb, Procedural Fairings, and KW Rocketry parts. KW came first, but I didn't like the rigid fairing sizes. MechJeb is only used to Autopilot things I have already done myself manually! Now for the question: I've seen the texture replacer and I have been especially (or rather solely) interested in the "helmetless kerbals" part of that mod, but it looks way complicated from the main thread I saw. Is there either a mod that ONLY does the hemet on/helmet off part OR a simple explanation of how to implement just that part? I don't want to mess with anything else, I'd just like to have Jeb, Bob, and Bill to be able to get out of those stuffy helmets when safely inside or on Kerbin's surface.
  2. So far... Flopnik - First satellite (along with Stayputnik, this was a derisive name give to the first failed US satellite attempt, Vanguard TV3) Merkury - Suborbital and orbital one kerbal capsule flights Semini - orbital one kerbal capsule, practice rendezvous and docking with one man capsules made it half or semi - Gemini, hence Semini. Chell - Science collecting probe series, named for the protagonist of the "Portal" game series. Kurveyor - Surveyor type landers sent to the Mun. KUR-700 - UR700 launcher and moon mission later renamed... Diana - Kerbaled Munar landing missions - based on Soviet "plan B" to land on the moon, one BIG ship lands, then launches back to Earth, no docking in orbit. SPARTA - Science Platform And Roving Terrain Assessment, a series of landers with rovers to find good landing spots for Diana/Leto landers, developed after Diana one nearly falls over upon landing. Leto - Apollo style (orbital docking, separate lander and command ships) lander for the Mun, named for Diana's mother in greko-roman mythology (yes I know I switched cultures with the names) V'Ger - single probe sent to Jool on a science collecting flyby. Vanished, possibly into a black hole, after leaving Kerbol's SOI.
  3. Unnamed probe. Simple probe core with jetisonable decent stage and RCS tanks/thrusters. Success (followed tutorial online) Muna 1, Manned attempt. Apollo style. Failure, inadiquate fuel. Lander crashed on surface. LOONY 9 and 10 landing practice, success. KURVEYOR 1 THRU 8 Unmanned. 6 Successes, 2 failures. First probes with science aboard. Later probes used mechjeb for landing, which resulted in one failure. The other failure was under manual control. These used the real surveyor flight plan, ascent to parking orbit then straight to moon's surface. Muna 2, Manned. Apollo style. Failure, inadequate fuel. Lander soft landed and returned/docked with CSM, could not return to kerbin. Diana 1, Manned. UR700 style. Aborted due to tipping over. Diana 2, Manned. UR700 style with legs on outriggers. Success, precarious landing, stabilized by folding one leg back in, and locking the suspension on the opposite side. Diana landings suspended. SPARTA (Science Platform and Automated Roving Terrain Accessment) probes launched with rover to hunt for level ground to land on. Diana launches resumed. Diana 3 and 4 success.
  4. Flip the decoupler over and the previous stage disconnects but the shroud stays. I think then the jettison action drpos the shroud, like in that one famous Saturn v film where it goes gently tumbling away from a camera that must have been up next to the engine.
  5. I love the cam and docking cam! One question tho ( maybe a future feature idea ) I have 2 monitors. Is there any way to get the cams full screen on my second monitor?
  6. This was the best location I could find for this. I have not received as confirmation email from the board. I checked my address and it is correct Also, when using the forum from s mobile device, there's no way to select a "prefix" as they don't appear at all. :-(
  7. Hello fellow Kerbalnauts! I too made the one small step during the Steam sale and I love it! I think this game is not only fun and engaging, but hold great potential to interest future engineers and scientists in space and space exploration. Bravo Squad!
  8. This is q great mod! And the SSTV images are cute too. Edit: forgot to mention how I know what the images are... I have 2 monitors, and I run a program called MMSSTV on the 2nd screen. Each time there's an SSTV transmission, it detects it and decodes/displays the image. http://hamsoft.ca/pages/mmsstv.php
