  1. Interesting... Well done!
  2. Just about all I do is make aircraft, spaceplanes, and rovers. And I have a tremendously good time doing it.
  3. Ive got over 2000 hours, and have never had any mod of any kind installed. And I don't miss them. I also have not had any kind of crash since 0.90.
  4. Pre 1.0 I had many crashes. After 1.0 I have had zero. No program crashes whatsoever. Bugs, there are still many, but very few of them frustrate me. And I have never had any mod installed.
  5. If that is a definitive list from a group of respected reviewers, then I hold little hope for the future of gaming.
  6. Perhaps someone could mod an overlay? Or a series of overlays depicting actual human markings, and some alien markings for 'immersion'.
  7. I use an alpha-numeric system for all my vehicles that are not spacecraft. (Exception: SSTOs). e.g. KTA 101 j K for Kerbal, T for Transport, A for Aircraft, 1 for crew, 0 for Science equipment, 1 for # Engines, j for juno. Spacecraft usually get named after the Pilot + Destination. Such as, Valentina-Mun, or Jeb-Duna 3. (If it happened to be Jebs 3rd trip.) Makes it easy to know where they all are.
  8. I would agree with you if we were all using the same brand of console. But PCs vary so much in every aspect, it would be impossible to all have the same experience.
  9. No crashes, no mods, no worries. (Well, wheels, landing gear, and landing legs still need tweaking).
  10. I found myself mentally using it for estimating travel times. e.g. I need to drive this rover 50 km that way and I have to leave for work in 40 minutes. How fast do I need to average to make that happen? Well, if I average 25 m/s, 50 km is 2 ksec, or about 33.5 minutes. A fast flight from KSC to KSC2 and back is just under 2 ksec. So far, it looks like only I actually use it.
  11. It is 16 minutes 40 seconds. And yes, I believe it is a fine 'sized' unit of time. The convenience factor could be limited like you say, due to timepieces not having that ability. But its easy to remember. Its nearly the same number of ksec/hour as liters/gallon. Maybe I'm the only one here who does.
  12. Build rocket. Launch. See how high it goes. Build next rocket: Add more boosters, add more struts. Launch. See it go higher than first rocket. Hmm, pattern detected. etc. That's the old days to me.
  13. Ive been using kiloseconds, (kilosec, ksec), for some time now, but noticed nobody around here seems to ever mention it. With meters per second as the universal game velocity standard, the ksec is understandably useful. Anyone else use it?
  14. I leave steam running. I have had zero crashes since the last update. Plus I run zero mods.
  15. He doesn't need a monument, the entire game is his monument.
  16. I am finding the ruggedized wheels to be wonderful. Ive been continuously doing this challenge since 0.90, and it has been very difficult until this latest patch. It is still easy to break a wheel, but the craft just rolls to a stop instead of the usual fireworks display. I'm going to have a hefty photo album when this is over.
  17. Ive been working my Elcano since 1.0. Im using the ruggedized wheels. They used to be difficult to keep going without wrecking, now, with the new suspension, they seem to work much better. I can still break a wheel occasionally, but no catastrophic, explosion-filled flips. Power-wise is another problem. The wheels dont seem to have the power to go up any significant slope, with increasing power consumption. However, velocity has increased. I used to be able to max speed on battery alone to about 23m/s, now they can get up well over 30m/s on flat grade.
  18. Im very impressed that all of KSP is so easy for you. I do not believe I have ever watched a Scott Manley video. I did not know it was required to enjoy this game. Besides, I never said I 'cant' go interplanetary, it is extremely difficult without the use of mods or math. And there is no payoff. So, it is more of a lack of desire than anything. I also have no idea how KerikBalms post is nested in there?
  19. I am one of those. Over 2000 hours played. I have been to Duna once, using infinite fuel, and Laythe once the same way. And there are a lot of reasons I wont attempt travelling outward again. Going to Mun/Minmus doesnt take much, fuel wise, or planning wise. For anything further, I have to just eyeball the fuel and hope for the best. Not fun when you spend the better part of a day making a trip to Duna only to find out you do not have enough fuel. Trial and error to reach the outer planets is not enjoyable for me. Playing a game, and having to use pen, paper and calculator, is not enjoyable either. Plus, like others have posted, docking is a ridiculous chore, and I plan to never attempt it again. (Spent an entire weekend docking a ship to a station, only to have it blow up.) I dont have the patience or 'fine touch' everyone else seems to have. Then there is modding. I have nothing really against modding in general, in fact I have several games that I have heavily modded. Just not this one. When this game is complete, I will consider modding. I will not mod the game because I 'must' to have fun. So, I just sit on Kerbin and make my planes and rovers.
  20. I dont have pics, but if I land a craft in the boonies of Kerbin, I cannot take off again. The drag on the gear jumps from side to side, and go into a ground loop. Did not do this before. No mods.
  21. Im guessing this is a folder within the game somewhere? There is no option for this in sandbox mode. I dont think. I thought it was possible to delete craft with the 'delete' button in SPH/VAB, but not anymore? But Thank You! I will hunt down the Ships folder and delete from there.
