  1. Okay, now intercept it and protect the KSC!
  2. Maybe but you have to go and collect every single panel that floats away! Honestly, I think that would be overpowered but the engineer's ability to fix destroyed wheels over and over is also overpowered so I don't know. I always quick save once I have my two vessels within about 100 m of each other (as well as retracting solar panels though). I also dock at speeds less than 0.5 m/s to maintain control. Also your thread subject should be something like "Engineers should be able to fix solar panels"; that's much more informative and useful than just "Engineer". That's good advice for any forum; other forum users will appreciate it. And welcome to the KSP forum!
  3. I think he was talking about in real life. They were talking about someone's job working with natural gas mining or something.
  4. The flags don't interest me. Mine is on default.
  5. Hey, I think I noticed the intended purpose of that initial click for re-rooting. You know you can take a chunk of parts off a craft and it goes sort of see-through? Well, you can click on that see-through chunk and make a piece in that the root.
  6. Does having drill deployment and initiation of surface harvesting as separate button clicks serve any useful purpose?
  7. I think the Ant should sound like deflating balloon... or at least it should when tested as part of a contract as a sort of easter egg
  8. I suffered this bug once as have others. You should consider copying and pasting the contracts from the last save file you have to your most current save. It's easier if you use something like Notepad++ set to display as C++ so you can collapse brackets. Edit: see my post in this thread:
  9. Yeah, I guess that's what I was thinking off. I thought it was part of the engine though. I've no idea how jet engines work.
  10. You don't know what you're talking about. There's nothing wrong with the design of the plane - it's perfectly flyable - but traversing long distances takes a long time and I don't want to baby sit the plane. I want to leave it with trim set to pull up and SAS set to hold prograde so I can do something else but the process of setting trim requires long presses on the keys. I didn't take off; I deployed the plane from orbit and how am I supposed to know what to set the trim to before I'm in conditions I want it to work in?
  11. I'd like to be able to generate power by driving a turbine while travelling through the atmosphere. Perhaps some or all of the jet engines could do this; I think that's a real-life thing to power certain systems of passenger jets if the engines fail.
  12. There's nothing to explore! Everything is the same barren wasteland as wherever you've landed!
  13. I don't understand the solution. If I map W to Num8 it will still do the same thing when I press Alt + Num8 and I'll lose control of the craft. If I map Alt to #, the same thing. Changing the key assignments doesn't resolve the problem?
  14. Is there a better way to set trim than to press Alt + W/A/S/D/Q/E? Trim is set very slowly and I can't just sit there holding S because then my plane stalls and maybe even goes into a spin (fin has overheated and died). I'm forced to keep pressing S for brief pulses but the oscillations have to be carefully controlled or I end up in a spin again.
  15. I think their main point is that parts should be unlocked independently instead of in groups?
  16. I've installed a few mods to produce sounds but of course they should all be in stock.
  17. The small ISRU allows surface attachment (attachment to its own surface) but the large one doesn't. I'd like them to be equal in this respect!
  18. I hate times in games where your own head gets in the way of what you're looking at! It's an absurd problem to have!
  19. I think they shouldn't have to return to Kerbin for their experience to upgrade. Engineers should also get experience for manning a ore mining vessel.
  20. You can put the engines in separate control groups so you can toggle them on and off in sets.
  21. I screw up about three times per minute so this will never happen for me.
  22. I don't know. It's on the far left in this picture:
  23. RasterPropMonitor addresses this by just showing the pro- and retro-grade and target symbols on the outer edges of the navball (more of a navcircle on RasterPropMonitor) so you know which direction to take.
  24. I'm guessing this was abandoned but I really like the idea. I'd love to use my tablet touchscreen as customised panel of KSP buttons.
  25. Incidentally, I think it would be a nice feature to be able to use Telemachus without putting specific antennas on the craft. I already have many craft in use and I'd like to be able to use the mod without having to add antennas (also I'm not a fan of the aethetics!). I've read that it's possible to achieve this manually be changing certain part files but I figure they will get overwritten every time someone updates KSP.
