A Close up of the 672 Pound Folded Munar Rover using infernal robotics, Munar wheel 1, stock parts. (NOTE) Must reconfig parts weights, I dont see how the heck a spot light can weigh in at 35 pounds! [CLOSEUP] Corporal Vasquez USCSM / KSCSM 8th BMTS Sulaco

Well i have been playing historical now for a while, and i was desperate to get a rover to the Mun, the way the Apollo missions did, the problem being that nobody seemed to have a Lunar rover that fit the bill, so Using Robotics, And some parts, I built one. This is the Folded Rover being deployed. After the rescue the Kerb seems very relieved! The whole vehicle weighs in at 672 Pounds, and is very managable. The Wheels are the Munar Rover 1 wheels, other than that I think its all stock, cept for the generator . NEXT i will attempt to make a Roll over part to flip it over if it flips. Say is it just me or does the EVA seem very very risky? Have the scientists on Kerbin discovered rope yet? Has this question been asked before? Is there a mod that allows the kerbal to attach himself to the structure on which he is EVAing? Im just wondering about this little oversight. Was watching Gravity, great flick, and I wondered why the Kerbals don't have a safety line to attach when going outside the structure , a line to prevent OFF STRUCTURE issues... Detective work.

Well update, I found it, sadly KSO is causing the crash. I even installed the space x and no crash. -
Vanilla????
CorperalVasquez replied to CorperalVasquez's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Ok, after testing, I have identified the culprit. KSO is causing the crash, now I'm not saying KSO is a bad mod, I'm just saying it crashes my game at launch. I installed it according to the install, with the module manager, thing and all, crash at start. Uninstall it and I get a smooth running game. I think it may be texture rich, I often wonder when making models and textures, why no one else uses the (smallest) setting on textures? I have, and I loose nothing, and a big texture is reduced to very small, again I'm rambling, sorry. I will miss the KSO, I love that model, but it seems I have a choice, KSO and no game, or no KSO and game galore! Corporal Vasquez USCSM/KSCSM 8th BMTS Sulaco -
Vanilla????
CorperalVasquez replied to CorperalVasquez's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Ah, ok, now that makes sense. Well I have taken it unto my self to hunt the culprit down. I started with vanilla, and literally launched all the stock craft. No issues, no lag, stock "out of the box" settings. Then I added the FASA historical. Again, launching everything, so far no issues. If this is simply an issue of the machine loading to many mods, then you think someone would figure out that specimen loading might work better. Example, instead of a three d version of the part in the VAB, an image file. Small, and viewable. Then if you select that part, the engine loads the part. This would allow the game to be usable on low end machines, and high. Also might cut down on the MEM crashes. I'm not a programmer, but like in the Sims, the models don't really load until you pick them. Sorry for rambling.... Corporal Vasquez USCSM/KSCSM 8th BMTS Sulaco. -
Well I'm not sure this is the right place for this thread, but here goes. I am one of the few that has the dreaded C R A S H issue, yet in vanilla mode it works ok. So I have decided to run it in vanilla, and add my mods one at a time until the crash surfaces. right now I have managed to get .24 to run vanilla, that proves the base model is good, now I have added the fasa pack, and so far so good. Everything seems to be running fine. Im conveinced it's something someone created and may not know about it. Will keep ya all posted. So am I to understand that if it runs ok WITHOUT mods, then there's nothing anyone can do? just asking.... Corporal Vasquez USCSM/KSCSM 8th BMTS Sulaco.

I never did introduce myself. Well now is as good a time as any. Greetings, I am Colonial Marine Corporal Vasquez. I have enjoyed playing the KSP game and it's been an educational run. I enjoy the mods, especially the KSO, FASA and any historical mods. I have always enjoyed space flight. I was using the 23.5 version, and recently decided to upgrade to the 24, but now it seems my voyage is at an end. The 24, crashes on load, but hey I'm not mad, it has been a fun journey. I have tried all the fixes to no avail. I will continue to run on the 23.5 until it no longer works. But hey, it has been a wonderful ride. Keep on shooting your Kerb's to the stars boys! Corporal Vasquez United States Colonial space Marines 8th Basic Marine Tactical Squad Sulaco.

Yeah I set that, kinda answered my own silly question, but alas, to no avail. Using the 24 version I can only run Fasa mod, any other mods, like my favorite KSO, and crash on launch, silly machine runs out of memory, drat, drat drat. I guess I will stick to 23.5 and this will be as far as I can go. Its been fun, will miss the upgrades.... Corporal Vasquez USCSM/KSCSM 8th BMTS Sulaco.

Has someone, or can someone make a plugin that unloads unused parts? Like a menu list? Just asking.
-
Dagnabbit! i updated to .24, and crashola on launch. I know your suppose to send all that error log stuff, just feeling frustrated and venting. Might be a mod, cause a clean install don't crash, but not exciting to play. I guessing ya need a super duper computer to run it? Or perhaps no mods? Lol, just venting. UPDATE.... Ok, well it seems that a particular set of parts may have been causing the crash? Even though it says updated, it's not. Won't point fingers, but for now I can launch certain vehicles like the Saturn V. I love the old reliable rockets.

If you tinker a bit with things, Like I frequently do, http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah65/CorperalVasquez/screenshot304_zps281f57a2.png' alt='screenshot304_zps281f57a2.png'> You get a whole different vehicle. Introducing the MEDIA TRUCK! Mobile Telemetry Vehicle (M.T.V) Are you tired of missing the launch cycle? perhaps you would like to get that spectacular Explosion on the evening news? To get rid of Jeb, (Worthless Crew) Bill (Gravity Bacon) and Bob (The Faulty Fuse) build a ship to go to the Mun, land them there, then abandon them (Quarantine) the region. I think Jeb Bill and Bob are over played any way.

Ok, to finish this tale, After the drunken marines liberated the Kerbin city Police car, and dumped it on the KSC, the Kerbs in charge decided that they to could benefit from some cruisers. http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah65/CorperalVasquez/screenshot281_zpsc015a480.png' alt='screenshot281_zpsc015a480.png'> The new model Kords are in and the KSC has a growing fleet. Much slower than the city versions, but still effective in deteriing drunk marines from depositing ill gotten gains all over the facility. LOL

Ok, whats a Spoiler tag?

LOL! http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah65/CorperalVasquez/screenshot279_zps50f3e8c3.png' alt='screenshot279_zps50f3e8c3.png'> Ok, here's the story, After a long week of training, and training, and virtually no sleep, a few of the Boys from the 8th BMTS went to Kerbin city. After many rounds and bragging, they showed up on base with what appears to be a Kerbin City Poilce Car. its affectionatly dubbed, TEST CAR 2.....

Well after tweaking, and tweaking, finally i got it to fly, and man can it fly! The correct angle for re-entry, anything else just looks stupid. it is basically a bullet upon reentry until about 2000m then you have to kick in the hover engines, nose up, full throttle to slow it down. am thinking of installing braking thrusters eventually i will get the apc loaded into it, and get an internal done on both, then it will be user ready. Corporal Vasquez USCSM/KSCSM 8thBMTS Sulaco
-
Hey! Im new here, but have been playing KSP for like ever, I was wondering if anyone knows how to make an internal? I need one for this.... and i am establishing a base on the island.... http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah65/CorperalVasquez/screenshot243_zpsf525a8d8.png' alt='screenshot243_zpsf525a8d8.png'> Any help would be appreciated...
