  1. It's a bit long, but full of helpful illustrations and useful concepts. Before this guide I couldn't really get the hang of building airplanes, but now I can churn them out pretty quickly. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/52080
  2. Got a basic Minmus base set up, with a resupply ship in the lower left dropping off crew and picking up fuel for the return trip.
  3. After having introduced my partner to KSP, she built her first Mun capable rocket in career mode. Helped her fly the beast to the Mun and back. Love that feeling of getting others hooked on KSP.
  4. Started getting big into building places with this little beast. Handles much better than I though it would.
  5. Kerbals. Kerbals are the occupants of Kerbin. The entire community agrees on this.
  6. Awesome little parts pack! These really spiff up the lander can, and I've been looking for some simple Apollo parts for my missions. Look forward to seeing anything else you work on!
  7. Carefully. There's a Mk16-XL and two radial mount chutes on the nose. Usually pick a flat landing site, deploy the chutes, and using the remainder of the fuel, gently set it down on its engines, whilst using RCS to keep it stable.
  8. Added a nice cargo shuttle to my fleet, but didn't want to mess around with traditional space shuttle designs, so came up with this beast.
  9. You could still use Xayven's idea. I've delivered rovers with FAR and DRE using something similar. Just sandwich your rover between the heatshield and the landing stage, drop the shield when you're atmospheric. Land, then decouple the rover.
  10. Engage MechJeb, set pitch to 85 degrees, go full throttle and then activate the engines. I pitch over in case of an aborted launch, as I don't want the pad destroyed, and when I separate any boosters, they splash down with a greater chance of surviving for recovery.
  11. Started a new career save, launched my first vehicle, finished it by recovering the vessel, and was awarded money, reputation, but no science. I was using Kerbal Construction Time, and fearing that could be the issue, removed it, and started a new game. Yet the issue still persists. Anyone have any ideas as to what it might be? 12. Have you read over the Challenge Submission Guidelines? http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24898-Challenge-Submission-Guide
  13. This looks interesting, definitely be following to see how it progresses.
  14. http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpeg/PIA19048.jpg Also the full sized image from NASA, so you don't have to go digging for it.
  15. Did uh, did anyone just hear Russian pop music playing on the NASA TV feed? When the announcer isn't speaking?
  16. But this is more useful than tortoises version. Being able to stick monoprop and oxidizer is definitely useful.
  17. Finally bit the bullet and installed FAR. Surprisingly found it easier to build a flyable plane with than without. I imagined FAR would be a lot harder, haven't had any unexpected disassembly of my craft so far.
  18. Anyone got a link to those scanners? I hunted around but can't find anything active for that county.
  19. KSP crashes with KSO installed. Just to be sure it wasn't any other mods causing the issue, I did a clean install of KSP 0.25 and installed KSO. The game crashes before the main menu can load. Running the x86 build, as the x64 is just too unstable. Included are the error log and output log. If there's anything else required to help diagnose the issue, just let me know. error.log output_log.txt
  20. I experience this too, both with a stock and modded copy of .25, the shadows appear through the actual mesh of the model, I'll grab some screenshots of it when I get home.
  21. Went on a short trip to the Mun and back. http://imgur.com/a/7cX6I
  22. I play KSP nearly every day, when I get the chance. I've probably started it up 8, 9 times in the past week. But never before have I seen this particular splash screen. Is this normal? Is that kerbal not meant to be wearing a full helmet? Perhaps this is the work of a mod? Color me confused.
  23. From December 2012 until February 2014, due to real life stuff, and losing the only laptop I had that could play it at more than 4 frames per second.
  24. I have a question that may seem rather basic, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out. How is it going to take until Tuesday morning for the ship to intercept the ISS? I can understand maneuvering once it gets close to the station. I know a lot of my understanding of the complex workings of orbital physics is from a game where everything's in small scale, but two days from circularizing to approaching the ISS seems like a hell of a time.
