As someone who normally doesn't follow these things, I had no idea anything was going on until I saw a Scott Manley video where he discussed some of this. This post is an excellent summary of the situation for someone just trying to figure out what is going on and I just want to thank you for putting it together Mycroft.

When I updated to .24 I immediately went and started a new career mode and started to play through. I didn't even notice, until now, that the update had converted all of my previous saves to full-on career mode as well. Is there any way that I can go into the game files and convert these saves back to science mode? Please help
