  1. I downloaded the thing from git (as was posted on the previous page), and I could send back data on my first career mission after I had unlocked the first antenna. So the very basics seem to work fine, at least.

I think I remember reading issues with science transfer the other day. How was that? And maybe it is issues with this mod's specific antenna.

  2. how about answering the dam question instead of being so arrogant?

is typing the word "NO" so much harder than the word "read"

I agree. Don't turn this into the League of Legends forum.

Many times when you read back, something follows a chain of events or issues. Where a message might say that "it works in 1.0," many times, it is referring to another mod being discussed or an aspect of the mod itself working but not the entire mod.

It is often appropriate to ask this question, especially in the kind manner he did. It is never appropriate to be childish.

Typing "No" would've actually been two letters easier.

And your fighting stance counter remark to him only solidifies these arguments.

Please do not turn these forums into something most of us do not want.

  3. TaranisElsu,

I love TAC LS and have used it since I bought the game in 23.5. With the advent of stock drills, would you consider in TAC LS making a mod for the refinery so it can convert ore to water and oxygen to refill tac ls tanks if you have not already done so?

    Thanks

I love the idea of more incorporation, but I think we need to stay closer to reality.

Arguably, drilling a rock/metal asteroid would use water rather than grant it. If it were a comet, that is another matter.

But perhaps you can make it possible to get water and oxygen, converted from water, from drilling in an area that has snow, for example, or using a device to extract from pools.

  4. How is this even possible, the female use an different model but is elsewhere the same.

    Real weird bug.

Probably the coding in anticipation of different applications in the future between male and female kerbals. Seems unlikely especially since I don't know what that would entail but it would explain the difficulty in cross-application.

  5. Just wanted to add my own thanks, and I look forward to the update. It's funny, I rack up a bunch of mods to try to simplify tedious aspects of the game, but TAC-LS's added complexity makes things interesting. I appreciate what other modders are doing with their own LS mods but I'll be sticking with TAC.

Agreed. Your mod is so easy to incorporate yet remains complex. It doesn't feel right to go anywhere else. But don't get me wrong, those other modders make other good mods, too.

    Thanks man!

  6. Ok, wait- DOES it work with 1.0? Has anybody actually tested it? I know that I'm gonna sound impatient, and I'm trying not to rush, but: I really can't play without this mod! It's TOO great!

I feel ya man. I can't play without this and remotetech either. But I don't think it is worth trying the .9 version. They almost always add new code and it probably isn't worth the stress to try reloading.

He has rocked before on timing so I wouldn't worry too much.

  7. Just as the title says.

I like the idea of being able to set an engine's thrust limits in a stage.

E.g. - I have a shuttle...When the solid fuels come off, I want to reduce the thrust limit on the directly vertical thrust to favor the diagonal. So, at launch, an engine is being used at 100%, lets say. Once I engage the stage, I would love for the limit to engage as well rather than having to right click and change myself constantly, especially since there are multiple engines involved.

No, I don't want a shuttle mod. If I wanted that, I would just ask someone to come play the game for me. The fun is in it doing it yourself.

  8. Or practice with FAR and prep for 1.0.

Plus, the chicks totally dig a player with FAR...

    A-Queer-Chick11111.jpeg

Its how I got my wife (see above).

You can also consider NEAR. It is much more friendly with aircraft. FAR is pretty brutal, but I also play with deadly reentry so that may have some degree of effect. And yes, Jarmund is right on. It is absolutely worth it. Makes you play around a bit more with delta-v since it will no longer be a definite 4500 to attain orbit, dependent on drag variables, etc.

  9. This is really simple to address. I know exactly the problem.

Lets say you want to test a specific engine at 10k altitude at 500mps.

You are using that engine to get to the desired alt/speed. Once there, all checks are full. But the problem is that you are using the engine! There are two ways around this...

    1) make it multistage. Once all checks are reached, activate the stage with the fresh engine.

    2) while in flight and at the desired place or immediately before reaching, open a new, empty stage below the already in use engine by clicking the "+" stage button and dragging as necessary to the bottom. Your stages will all remain the same except there will be the new blank one before the now, already active engine. Press space once you reached all parameters to "activate" that stage. It will trick the computer into thinking you are now activating that engine, even though it is already working.

"using" or "activating" the part is simply actuating its staging. This is not the same as with landing gear, where you need to right click them and "test" them.

  10. I was thinking you could incorporate planetary scaling with difficulty.

Maybe have it increase with difficulty?

Don't have it increase on its own, per game, but instead make it available as a variable when setting a custom difficulty?

I just like the idea of balancing out the massive amount of money I can still make in career mode on the hardest mode. Yes, I can reduce payout, but I feel like increased funds use (rather than reducing payout) allows for more fun. Larger rockets = greater complexity than simply taking away money, etc.

    What you think? Expand...

    ----

I realize there are scaling mods, like 6.4, but This allows per application use. Worse case I just load that but I feel integration is a good idea.

  11. Fair enough. But I posted this following the spirit of other challenges. I didn't see anywhere all those details were needed. Just thought it would be fun to have people post attempts/creations for accomplishing anything past orbit with sepratrons.

While it makes sense to have rankings, etc., on other challenges, this one would be harmed completely by something like that.

I'll just request this be taken down. Kind of annoying how its been treated.

In the meantime, I will consider other challenges that fit.
