  1. 10 years, 191 days, 3 hours, 13 minutes, and 21 seconds later- plus or minus a few days, of course.
  2. I know of you. Your avatar is distinctive, but I haven't seen you much in the places I frequent.
  3. Dun dun dun dun da-dada da dah... I'm curious where that ship came from. It's pretty awesome, but it feels a little Deus Ex Machina to me.
  4. That's correct, Gene and Wherner both know what they mean. A part of the cliffhanger is if Shirley knows- "That's where I come in, my dears." Absolutely. I agree. The first story from Kenlie seems particularly relevant here, too.
  5. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Mr. Martin doesn't own a green external frame Kelty to go hiking in the Adirondacks with.
  6. Well, yeah, but that's people who are not used to fighting- they have fought, but not often. What to you do when your society doesn't even have the concept of intentional violence? The Kerbals see absolutely no reason to harm one another, so why would that concept not extend to others? To put it another way- Why trade a new, unknown concept for one that has worked since presumably forever? (Kuzzter hasn't mentioned what happened in the Year Before the Year Before the Year Before Year Zero.) The Kerbals are a scientific people, they know what works and what doesn't, so why get rid of a perfectly good and working societal model? What happens when a peaceful utopia meets a violent society? This is why I'm really quite excited to see how Kuzzter handles this. My own prediction is that it will be a non-violent response, primarily concerned with protection instead of aggression. But who knows, except for Kuzzter himself? Your idea could end up being correct, instead of mine! Right now, though, I don't think it's likely. However, if you can find evidence- not just conjecture, but evidence- the other way, you could very well convert me.
  7. Hippie, shmipy. The Kerbals are unlikely to go against their core values so quickly. I mean, it's only been what, 48 minutes and 59 seconds since the KSC has been attacked, right?
  8. Not very Kerbal, now is it? Too murder-dethy for them. Will they retaliate? Or just take defensive measures? My bet is on the latter.
  9. I can't do this now, but if you're willing to wait for a bit (month? two?) I can try. Also, @Signo- Microsoft has been pushing Wind10 for a long time now as the standard across all platforms. I doubt they'll allow you to downgrade if you purchased Win10 to Win7 (if they do, let me know, I'll downgrade ASAP), but I know that they allow downgrades within 30 days of a "Free upgrade" from Win7 to Win10.
  10. Welp, looks like we all just learned something about clarity in writing.
  11. @5thHorseman- I wasn't referring to the "Like this" button, I meant the arrow. Is that what you did, too? @sal_vager- If it helps, I'm on Firefox. If you know a free video software to record my screen, I can show you.
  12. Pressing the spacebar will autorotate the kerbal to face the direction the camera is facing.
  13. Hi Mods, I just ran a test on the upvoting system in the Gp&TS subforum. It appears that when you upvote a post and then reload the page, you can't un-upvote the post. In a similar vein, upvoting and unupvoting a post leaves you unable to reupvote it until you reload the page. And once you reload the page from there, you can't unreupvote it. Are these bugs or features? And if one (or both) are bugs, can you fix them, or is it up to IPS?
  14. @BentRim- great question, and an even better avatar! The standard way to display threads in the forums is by date, earliest to latest posts. In the Gameplay Questions subforum, however, it's a little different- users can vote up the post(s) they think best answers the OP's question. Why does this help? Well, standard forum formating rules do not apply there. If you look at the bottom right of any OP there, it should say "Sort by Date | Sort by Votes." If you go to any other subforum and click on a thread, you won't find that option. This makes it easier for new players and users to find the best answer, as voted on by everyone who read the thread. Now, there are some problems with this; the biggest being that not every thread has a top answer. But you can fix this. When you're in a thread in the Gameplay Questions subforum, read through the entire thread, and click the up arrow for the posts you think best answers the OP. As a community, when we work together good things happen.
  15. Speaking of Daytona Beach, there's Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University there. I'm sure you could get a tour around campus, and maybe sit in on a class there. I don't think that's what you're looking for, but it's all I got.
  16. On the topic of uniforms, Kerbfleet and otherwise... During the American Civil War, it seem as if there are as many General-rank uniforms as there were generals. Grant, for instance, wore a cavalry hat like @Kuzzter's and a frock coat, but Sheridan wore a French Connection hat much like @ManeTI's. Jackson wore the uniform of a Confederate general, with the hat from a VMI cadet. Early wore a Hardee hat, and Hardee wore no hat. In short, general officers (and, to a lesser extent, colonels and below) had as much freedom of choice as they wanted. Since Kerbfleet is Mildly Military, it makes sense to me that flag/star officers get to pick and chose the parts of their attire.
  17. In Chapter 10, theres some exposition about the whole ritual challenge. Specifically, https://i.imgur.com/836fH1N.png Kenlie wrote that, so he obviously knows how to delay the plans. Might this be his strategy? Just like Kerbals are bound by GO:0, Kerbulans seem bound by this custom. And Kuzzter- I take back what I said earlier about Kerbfleet canon being clear. There were 8 cases throughout the all of Kerbfleet comics, and they all came in this episode, with the rank device in that position. 1 of them was in a corner, and badly lit. 2 of them were on Evil Jeb 1 of them was on Jeb, well lit, but in a corner 1 was on Jeb, top center of the page. 1 was on Jeb, top left of page, hidden in an inset. 1 on Tedus, floating in the bridge 1 on Tedus, sitting in the bridge, nearly hidden by the belt. The one on Gene is the first time that the eye is really drawn to that particular feature of the suits. In addition, none of the characters not listed have their rank badges in that position. Finally, there's this: Tons of medals, all in roughly the same place. The one on Shirley's upper-left chest looks pretty similar to the LTK rank insignia, too. So I take it back. Consistent? Yes. Clear? No. Perhaps it's different for you as an author/player, because you see these suits all the time, but as a reader, this part is more than a little pedantic.
  18. That's the flaw in my plan. But if the missiles are moving fast enough to not maneuver, than once they rotate everything should be OK. The planes themselves? Kerbals don't kill, so it won't be offensive. But using the planes to block cruise missiles is a conceivable strategy, so longs as the pilots eject at the right time.
  19. Oh! Sorry! There's so much Kerbfleet history I can't be expected to keep up, despite the fact that it's been remarkably clear and consistent for years now!
  20. Yes, it is definitely doable to put a refueling station in Minmus orbit. In fact, it's something very handy to have in the mid-game, where you start to do longer, larger interplanetary missions. Becuase of how the orbital mechanics work, it takes less fuel to go interplanetary from Minmus than it does from LKO. If you refuel at Minmus, then you can essentially ignore the fuel you used to get there. And you can always do mining on Minmus, it's really easy there.
