Who else loves seeing the little "Notifications" tab lit up?

It can do that now. #thingsyoulearnbyturningoffnotifications -
Who else loves seeing the little "Notifications" tab lit up?
Dman979 replied to Starwhip's topic in Kerbal Network
Well, as of right now, I have 4 notifications. I don't know how many are rep, status updates, etc, because I haven't opened them. I'll do that in another 14 hours or so. EDIT: Thanks, Adsii. Now I have 5 notifications and 2 PMs. -
Who else loves seeing the little "Notifications" tab lit up?

So as a little experiment, I changed my notification settings to pre-now style. I'm not going to open my notifications bar for 24 hours, and we'll see how many I get. -
Well. I didn't know this was even happening. Thank you for being my only sourced on this. I'm assuming that you work at Vandenberg? Also, what are SLCs?

F5 is refresh. Since you haven't moved, I can't do anything, either.

If I understand correctly, this will be implemented in a pre-version. Does it make sense to turn this on by default, and give it some values, and see how players react? That might give a more representative sample than your calculations. Also, I am fully in favor of this idea. For final implementation, though, it should default to "Off."

Ah, I was wondering where this thread went. I wonder what would happen if I didn't check my notifications for an entire day? How many would I have? How many would I have if I set my notification settings to the old forums? I think I'll try it. -

Can you do me a personal favor? Ignore that voice for the next 36 hours. When you hear that voice, remind yourself that it's stupid. Go out and take a risk for me. It doesn't matter what you do. Scared of talking to strangers? Go sit on a park-bench and say hello to everyone who sits with you. Everyone. Go play a game that you'll know you'll lose. Spend 30 minutes dribbling a soccer ball. Just go and do something!

Well, it doesn't seem to break any rules, so it's fine.
-
Thank you for not editing.

hahahah, I like it! And gee, I'm thread-famous! I can see condo's tagline now: "Dman Living: Guaranteed not to get hit by spacecraft!" I'm sorry to hear that the drop tanks didn't work out. I expected them to create some drag, but I didn't expect it to be that much of a problem.

I sign you up for Verizon. Check, mate.

Kerbals is Soylent Green!

Nonono, we'd rather you ping than not ping. Nothing to be sorry about.

I remember how the old forum told you whose birthdays it was. I'd find their latest post and give rep saying "Happy Birthday!" I miss that. Also, the old forum's reputation system allowed us to rep users who we disagreed with, but made a good argument, without making it seem like we agreed with it.
-
I grok you.

"I've been in the KSP community for so long, I remember X"
Dman979 replied to UnionPacific1983WP's topic in Forum Games!
I've been lurking the KSP community for so long, I remember the Great Forum Crash of 2013. (There was a crash then, right? Or have I messed up my years?) I remember when @GusTurbo had his old logo. I remember when @Red Iron Crown had a hand-drawn avatar (and sometimes a Christmas hat!) I remember when moderators had larger profile pictures than the rest of us. I remember when you could comment with your rep. I remember when different users had different amounts of rep power. -
Tex Kerman to G5. Check.
-
Well, yeah, but a private individual won't have the equipment necessary to print things on a large-enough scale to show serious promise. Exactly.

lolnope. Squad has a copyright on Kerbals, and legalities are much more complicated than you think. Fair-use law, though, means that you can use the trademark for your own stuff, so long as you are not making a profit off of it. And besides, Squad seems to already have an agreement worked out with a manufacturing company, which may mean exclusive rights.
