[1.5 - 1.12.5] BetterSRBs [v1.2.6] [30 June 2021]
OhioBob replied to OhioBob's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
BetterSRBs was TweakScale compatible in an early version before B9PS was used. But then the devs who took over TweakScale complained that there was a some sort of problem with the way my configs were done (I don't remember what the problem was, but I think it had to do with compatibility with other mods). By that point, however, I figured there were enough SRBs in the game of various sizes to suit almost any need that I felt rescaling wasn't really necessary. So rather than fix the configs, I just did away with them. Now that appears to have been the right decision since B9PS and TS apparently don't play well together. -
[1.5 - 1.12.5] BetterSRBs [v1.2.6] [30 June 2021]

I don't think so. At least there is no compatibility provided on the BetterSRBs side of things. -
Yes, it certainly is possible. I think you would have to replace the JNSQ configs and textures with your own. But I don't know enough about it to tell you how to do that.

I've never used the complete realism overhaul, but as I understand it, it is a significant change to the way the game is played. There are many more things that have to be considered, like ullage, limited restarts, etc. @Mitokandria, which way you go depends on just how far you want to take it. The PartRebalancer10x that comes with JNSQ is designed specifically to make as few changes to the way the stock game is played as possible. It simply modifies the rocket parts to have more realistic mass ratios and performance, so that you can build rockets capable of producing the higher delta-v required for 10x scale. Otherwise it leaves everything alone. It's probably a good starting point for someone who has never played 10x scale before. Going all the way to full RO might be a little daunting for a first timer to deal with. You can alway upgrade to RO later if you find you are enjoying the 10x experience and want something more challenging. By the way, PartRebalancer10x will work with any planet pack, not just JNSQ.
-
Have you buffed the rocket parts to account for the larger scale? If not, the game will be really difficult. The stock parts are way too heavy to build rockets at 10x scale. If you haven't done so, there's an optional config that comes with JNSQ that makes changes to the parts so you can build real scale rockets. You can find it in the JNSQ download in Optional Mods/JNSQ_Rescale/PartRebalancer10x/

Delta-v at 10x scale is 101/2 times greater than it is at 1x scale, or about 3.2x greater.

You could be seeing the difference between the solar day and the sidereal rotation period. The first is rotation relative to the sun, while the later is rotation relative to the stars. In stock KSP the solar day is 6 hours, while Kerbin's sidereal period is 5h:59m:09.4s. The clock uses the solar day, but the sidereal period is what you see when looking at the information panel in the Tracking Station. If you use a 1.25x multiplier, the solar day is going to be 7.5 hours. But if you happened to look at something that displayed the sidereal period, you could have seen 7h:28m.

[1.12.x] Kopernicus Stable branch (Last Updated December 21st, 2024)
OhioBob replied to R-T-B's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Do you have MultiStarSolarPanels.cfg installed? -
Do you have any visual packs installed? Because if you do, don't.
-
If you set useHomeDay = false, you should get the stock 6-hour day. If you set useHomeDay = true, you should get the length of day as it is in the home world's config. For JNSQ, that should be 12 hours. useHomeYear works similarly. The stock year is 426.09 6-hour days, The JNSQ year is 365 12-hour days.
-
Certainly. Go right ahead and add it. Thanks.

Unfortunately only Galileo can edit the OP since he's the one who created it. And he's not around anymore.

I don't know much about the KK stuff. @JadeOfMaar might have to look into the problem for us.
-
Did you also install Omega's Stockalike Stuctures?

[1.12.x] Kopernicus Stable branch (Last Updated December 21st, 2024)
OhioBob replied to R-T-B's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
In Kerbin's properties, try setting solarRotationPeriod = False. I don't know if that will fix it or not, but it's worth giving it a try. -
Nothing official from the mod makers.

Transfer Window Planner and Trajectories work fine with JNSQ, or any other planet pack for that matter. I don't know anything about [x] Science. JNSQ is not configured for Parallax, thus Parallax is not recommended for JNSQ . However, since Parallax is designed to modify the stock celestial bodies, and since JNSQ uses the same names as the stock bodies, Parallax will modify JNSQ. However, those modifications are designed specifically for the stock celestial bodies and not the JNSQ's version of those bodies. Therefore there is no guarantee those changes will look right or work right. There's nothing stopping you from using Parallax with JNSQ, but since neither product is designed to work with the other, don't ask for help if you have problems. Also note that Parallax will not do anything to the additional bodies that JNSQ adds that do not share names with the stock bodies.

The atmosphere multiplier stretches the existing atmosphere curves, while atmoTopLayer extrapolates them. For example, let's use your mulitplers and the stock Kerbin atmosphere, which is 70 km in height. The atmosphere multiplier stretches the existing curves to a height of, 70 * 1.1 = 77 km. The temperature and pressure at the bottom, middle and top of the atmosphere is exactly what it was before. It has just been stretched out to a new height. The atmoTopLayer multiplier then extrapolates the atmosphere from where it left off up to a new height of, 77 * 1.18 = 91 km. Sigma Dimension computes a rate of change from the existing pressure curve, and then uses that rate of change as a basis for the extrapolation. In the 77-91 km range the atmospheric pressure should decay exponentially so the pressure at the top of the new atmosphere is much lower than it was at the top of the old atmosphere. Regarding MechJeb, I know nothing about that. I have no idea why you seem to be experiencing drag above where the atmosphere ends. That shouldn't happen. But since it's apparently not a Realistic Atmopheres issue, it's not my concern.

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
OhioBob replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This is likely due to the kerbal renamer and possibly kerbal replacements, both of which have been known to be buggy. I recommend deleting the folders GPP_Renamer and GPP_Replacements. That should fix the problem.- 7,371 replies

[1.12.x] Kopernicus Stable branch (Last Updated December 21st, 2024)
OhioBob replied to R-T-B's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
The only way I know to figure out what objects are available is by looking configs for the celestial bodies and see what they are using. You can find that here: kittopia-dumps/Configs at master · Kopernicus/kittopia-dumps (github.com) As far as accessing the hidden files, I don't know anyway to do that. Perhaps there's a way to decompile files, but I don't know anything about that. That's not my area of expertise. -
[1.12.x] Kopernicus Stable branch (Last Updated December 21st, 2024)
OhioBob replied to R-T-B's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
The Kopernicus Wiki gives much of that type of information. Scatters specifically are placed using a PQS mod called LandControl. -
You're probably thinking of Explodium Breathing Engines. There are no plans to add anything like that to this mod because that mod still exists.
