  1. yeah I completely removed Lave, as after a long time thinking i couldn't think of a gameplay reason to keep it in the game. It really offered no unique aspects to the system, apart from looking nice-ish. Sure not every planet has to serve a purpose, however having too many "generic" bodies kills the overall experience, and I'd rather keep the "generic" ones to a minimum, such as rocky moons. Yeah i forgot to tell him to install KASE along with it, was kinda a last minute thing as he was actually planning to stream UL and i randomly dropped him a link
  2. are you playing 1.1.x? or 1.0.5? as your mods are for 1.1.x, however your module manager is still for 1.0.5 and wont work properly.
  3. The means there's an issue with the format of the normal map, the RGB channels are all messed up. Also with Kittopia you can raise the height of the export, simply go to the PQS editor and select the planet inside the PQS list and look for mapmaxheight or something like that, should be directly under the resolution option.
  4. ok c an you try 2 things for me; First can you upload a screenshot of the inside of the GameData folder so i can have a look. Second can you create a .zip file with the Logs/ folder located in the KSP directory (outside of GameData)
  5. i plan to update the planets in KP completely to my new standards, much like im doing with NH the 2 im stuck on are Ernus and Derso, Ernus' "face" is giving me issues, as i can't get it looking right currently, but this might be just a multiplied by my frustration overall. and Derso just isn't co-operating, I want to create a sort-of Mimas-type analogue with a heavily destroyed planet with one super large central crater but it just doesn't look right. I think the break might do be good to change my mind onto something else for a while before coming back to it, rather than just exhausting myself and losing interest like is currently happening.
  6. Also thanks everyone for the support! It's honestly pretty refreshing to see such love for the update, and helps me want to put it out faster too. Inspiration atm is still pretty low, and im honestly struggling to refine my ideas for the last 2 planets properly... HOWEVER I'm starting to think that I may just use placeholder planets for the time-being so that i can get this update finished, maybe having less pressure on myself and taking time to relax and work on other things will get my mojo back. I know there will be a slight disappointment in that decision, but at the same time I know you'll all understand why I'm going to do it. On the plus side though; It means i should be able to polish off the remaining work in (hopefully) only a couple days! (providing work doesn't bite me in the ass!) I'll keep you all posted on the progress. Unfortunately people told me to get twitter too, so occasionally i might post something there....maybe.......but if you're interested; https://twitter.com/KillAshley

  8. nope, the challenge is to only add one body to the system.
  9. i know what you meant, yes i have them all on file on my pc, I cant really stress enough though that as someone who doesnt know how to code at all like myself it is EXTREMELY easy to read the github especially seeing as every single value name is written in bright blue. It even tells you what value it needs directly under the name; numberparser is a number, MapSOParser is a MapSO (or a file like a colormap/heightmap), FloatCurveParser is a foat curve....simple, huh? Honestly learning how PQSMods actually work is the most important and fun thing you can do when creating planets, you should take the time to learn for yourself what every mod does, instead of trying to compile a list of everything at once. This will just lead to people using overly-complicated mods that they have no idea how to properly use.
  10. yes and so do you if you look at the Github here https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/tree/master/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/Configuration/ModLoader
  11. as Sigma said, its an open round this time, any and ALL ideas are valid. only green ones
  12. Hey everyone, just a quick note that the Kopernicus Creativity Marathon is back (finally)! You can check out the current round here;
  13. Sorry about the delay in the re-posting of this thread, work life has had me running around without a lot of free time lately! What is KCM? The Kopernicus Creativity Marathon is an open competition for all who want to try their hand at planet creation. Every so often either myself or @Thomas P. will post a new challenge for all to try their hand at. After the closing date for each competition we will judge the entries and announce a winner! That winner will then be put forward and integrated into a "community planet pack" that will be polished up by myself & @Thomas P. to ensure the contestant's planets are as good as they can be. Each competition will be judged in our free time, so please don't bug us for results until they are announced, likewise subsequent rounds might experience delays depending on our personal lives, but we will try to have a new one as soon as we can after the previous round (but no promises on how long the delay will be) How to enter; To enter for a leg of the marathon all you need to do is read the current rules and details regarding what we are looking for in this round, then after you created a new planet simply PM myself and @Thomas P. with your files so we can judge them after the closing date. Rules; Planets must be made using the current version of Kopernicus available during the competition. Any planets that don't work with the most recent version will be disqualified. Planets must be created specifically for this contest, any planets that are found to be part of existing planet packs will be disqualified. Any planets must be entered for the competition before the completion of each round. Any planets sent to us after the final day will be ignored. All planets must be released to myself and @Thomas P. under a MIT license. This is so we can polish the worlds and eventually release them as a community planet pack for all to enjoy. Any people who wish to release their planets to us under a different license must disclose so to us. (Please note; upon release of the community pack all credit will be given to the original creator of the planets. None will be taken by us) Any entry containing generic Space Engine export planets (ie; ones not heavily edited to actually look good in KSP) will be disqualified. One planet per person, but this does not mean just one person per planet (co-operation with other people is fine however "group entries" will only be allowed one single body) Ideas should be kept to the individual/groups creating the body. No plans, ideas, or anything else about your worlds should be discussed in this or any other thread. This thread is for announcements, rule/contest clarification, and general feedback. more to come too when i remember..... Current Competition; Round #4 Closed! Post Date - 2nd August 2016 Closing Date - 2nd September 2016 Previously regarded as the building blocks of bodies themselves, now known to be the floating fragments from millennia-old collisions, asteroids are always floating about our systems. Today your task will be to create a new small asteroid streaking across our system. Round Rules; -Size must be be between 10 and 30km radius (giving extra size for people struggling with small-scale PQS) -It's orbit must be relatively stable (don't make the orbits too rediculous) -Try to strike a balance between realism and beauty (a clump of loose rock doesn't have to look boring) -Bonus points for the most unique shapes Previous Rounds; Round #1 Create a moon for Dres Winning entry @tygoo7 for his moon Plez Round #2 Create a planet with an ocean Winning entry @The White Guardian with his planet Cerillion Round #3 Open Contest - Create any single body Winning entry @Agent-Daniel_46 for his world Trin
  14. The .cs file themselves are pretty easy to read, I have never actually learnt/been taught any programming language before and I can find the value names easily enough. Try having a look for yourself, it'll tell you the name of each value you can input, whether it's numerical, a filepath, etc. and even if theres sub-wrappers you can input. Theres also a pretty easy way to find out what each value does too, which is kittopia. also @Kepler68 PQS means Procedural Quad Sphere. You can learn how it all works in this unity engine video by SQUAD; https://youtu.be/mXTxQko-JH0?t=30m49s
  15. no there isn't you can, however actually try looking at the Github for Kopernicus, which contains all data for every PQSMod available by default; https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/tree/master/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/Configuration/ModLoader
  16. very cool. hey just a quick message to everyone, I know I am close to finishing NH2.0, however the last week I've been hit by not only a lot of work, but a complete lack of inspiration. My motivation to finish the update is there, however the inspiration to continue has disappeared. In the mean time I've been taking a small break (which is why I haven't really been replying) to clear my head. Hopefully it wont be long until i get my mojo back and slam the few remaining details out for all of you
  17. possibly? no too sure tbh apparently the forum ate all the threads, they are being replaced though
  18. yeah could be an issue with my asteroid cfg seeing as that cfg is outdated slightly, llet me experiment & thanks for letting me know, ill sort it out asap
  19. well so far Ernus & Derso are proving to be a pain in the ass to get correct...seems everything i do to them just doesn't work well enough for me to continue. I'm still working on them though, I know how frustrating it will be to players if they are left out, but I'm hoping i can find some inspiration soon lol, apart from those bodies almost everything else is complete. thanks!
