Decided to sort out the cluttered mess that is my stock system save (try saying that three times fast) Alright, let's check the tracking station to see what I was doing... Wait, I had a rocket heading to Dres? Oh no. I was young and foolish in those days! I didn't have KER! Will it have enough delta-v to-- Ohhh no. Ohhh nononononono. Well then. Looks like I'll have to save these poor victims. Plus Bob and Valentina, whom I left in orbit around Duna. *sigh*

I investigated Nerd's Periphery. What other option did I have? Ladies and gentlemen, may I present: Nerd's Periphery! You know, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed.

Refueled the Emperor via klaw: Not entirely sure how you pump fuel through a metal claw, but I'll roll with it. Then I sent it on its way to Gauss: Then spent way too much time trying to get to a remote corner of Gael only to find no anomaly there. KerbNet how could you do this to me Well, let's see what other anomalies we ha-- ... This was a randomly generated name, I swear.

@JadeOfMaar Anomalies

The Lemming probe is working as intended!
-
Built the Emperor: It's a fully-chemical SSTO. No relying on puny LOX afterburners for thrust. Instead I get the raw power of 3 Vectors! I had my doubts about the Gladiator, but this should be more than enough for Tarsiss. I also buit the Lemming, a small scanning probe: As the name suggests, this probe takes advantage of the Mk 1 drone core*'s high anomaly detection by performing suborbital orbits (feel free to suggest a better term), then marking as many anomalies as possible before bad things happen. Not that bad things will necessarily happen, since it has small RCS engines for getting back into orbit. It's also very heat resistant, thanks to its innovative ablating nose cone technology (the nose blows up and there's a heat shield behind it) *From Airplanes Plus. For reference, it has the same KerbNet properties as the Mk 2 drone core.

Partial joke. It was originally designed for Catullus, but then I realized it was not even remotely up to the task.
-
(casual disappearance) Built the Gladiator: This monster of an SSTO was built to take on Catullus! But it turns out Catullus is very very big, so it will probably go to Tarsiss instead.

Presenting the Wanderer: Your Single Stage To Anywhere Plane!™ Features: Tail landing gear for vertical landings Drills + ISRU NERVs for long-range flights It's still a WIP. It theoretically has enough delta-v to get to Iota. If you flew it perfectly. What I'm trying to say is the delta-v margins are too slim. It also takes half a year to refuel, which is just a little bit long. But it's promising!

That's fine, I can just make a new save and timewarp. Alright, the transfer angle is ~45°, which is what I thought. Yay! I also launched a second Javelin to visit Ceti. This one has tail landing gear, because that's much easier then trying to land on horizontal landing gear and I don't know why I didn't think of this in the first place.

@astroheiko Well I'm very glad to hear that Tellumo takes only 3500 m/s to get to orbit. This is exactly the kind of info I need. I guess we both helped each other Actually while we're at it, when was your transfer window? Cats, amiright? --- I sent up another MOTHER. This one's going to Tellumo. I actually sent it up with the planes already docked, since I was having difficulties getting them into orbit. All I need to do is refuel and figure out when the window is and I'll be good to go. Still don't know what to do with the first MOTHER.

The cockpit is from Airplanes Plus. I used it over the regular Mk 1 Cockpit because it can hold 2 kerbals, but if you don't care about that you can always just use the normal cockpit. It works on Kerbin, but I haven't tested it on Tellumo. It was originally built for Titanus from New Horizons, which has roughly the same properties as Tellumo, except for a much taller atmosphere. My only real concern was it not being able to get high enough for the rocket engines to be effective, so in Tellumo's short atmosphere it should be up to the task. I put on a drone core so it could fly unmanned, so if you don't want to risk your kerbals you could try that first. It should have barely over 3700 m/s delta v. You can't see from this angle, but the wings actually detach, saving quite a bit of weight. Hope that helps

The cockpit is from the WIP mod Mk 3 Expansion, and the engine is from the Atomic Age mod

Took a break from KSP. I was going to wait for the New Horizons update to make my grand return, but I figured while I waited I would try out GPP. I hadn't used it in the past because I didn't like the realistic look, but my extended break has cleared my palate enough for me to give it a chance. I'm going to transfer a few of my ships from my New Horizons save, but not all of them because the VAB and SPH are a cluttered mess and I'd like to avoid that this time. Aforementioned ships include: MOTHER: Reason: How could I not? It's my most-used interplanetary tug. It's also my only one, but that's purely coincidence. Tryke: Reason: This was the lander I used in my Jool mission. The little rover was a lot of fun to drive around. Titanus Tellumo Ascent Vehicle: Reason: Self-explanatory, although I'm not sure if I'll actually land on Tellumo after my encounter with Titanus. Luna: Reason: I was a bit bummed out that the Luna's delta-v margins were a bit tight in the Sonnah system. Hopefully the Gael system will be more forgiving. Wader: Reason: Hadrian. And so, of course, I'm going to start my space program by not using any of those. Instead I built an SSTO because I felt like it: This is the Javelin. I'm sending it to Iota. Now that I think about it I could've sent the Luna, which would've been easier to land with thanks to its VTOL engines, but I've managed to land planes on moons without atmospheres in the past. Then I also put a MOTHER in orbit: I haven't actually decided where to go, but I can take my time. EDIT: Actually the Luna is useless now. It uses all of its fuel getting to orbit. I have no idea what changed. I really liked it

I wonder when New Horizons is going to be updated for 1.2.2

This week, on Messing with Config Files:
-
Started prepping the MTU Daredevil (that's what I'm calling it) for its mission Refueled it (I had to drain some fuel to lower weight for launch, and then I used some more getting to orbit) and docked a plane. Next plane will be coming soon to a theater near you
-
Against my better judgement I've launched another ship identical to the one I sent to Arin. And I'm going to send it to Arin. Because apparently I never learn from my mistakes. What happened to the original? Now I'm glad I recovered the crew
-
Remember how I said I built an Eve lander a while back? Remember I said how I sent it to Eve? Did you notice that I suddenly went silent about it? Well, it's fine. The problem is I need to refuel it. And this is how much fuel I need:
-
Pretty colors... So shiny

Decided to try using landing gear as lane markers for a pseudo-runway, which is an idea I came up with on my own and did not steal from anyone I decided to use a KAS harpoon to keep it nice and anchored, and it works great! ...Until I switch away or use timewarp

Did a test run of my new and improved Condor! (It's the SSTO I made yesterday. Maybe I should say the names of these things sooner) It has less delta-v, but it already had more than enough to begin with. It's now able to carry 12 kerbals, plus an additional kerbal if you transfer the co-pilot. Landing was a bit rough, but that was partially my fault. I lost too much speed, and didn't throttle up enough. But it still landed successfully. Just had a bit of a bounce. I'm willing to bet that I can replace the crew cabins with fuel tanks and get a half-decent refueler. It still won't be a lot of fuel, however.
-
As of late I've been trying to design lightweight cargo SSTOs for my Serran base. Unfortunately the phrases "lightweight" and "90 tons of fuel" are a bit contradictory. But I did make a neat little crew transport!
-
Landed on Vall: And then ran out of fuel. Looks like I won't be landing on Vall after all

@NISSKEPCSIM Welcome to the forums! --- I brought the rover I used on my Jool mission, since I figured I'd have a long trek to make: I also brought some explosives for kicks and giggles destroying debris Cool guys don't look at explosions... Anndd... legs attached! And with that, the first part of my base is complete! let the awkwardly-shaped payloads begin...
