I have been looking around for a on rail acceleration for a while. Persistent Thrust have been a pretty quiet tread for quite a long time. I did try it and while I have yet to try yours, it look like a more elegant solution.
-
@Angel-125 Nice stuff! Regarding Cruise Control, would you consider releasing it as a stand alone mod? It sound too good to be limited to your mod.
-
That's great! it will fit nicely on TSTO first stage. I do not know if it fit with your plan but, will we be able to adjust the number of leg?
-
Most of the time it is aluminized polyimide (usually more yellow than gold). But MLI sometimes have a tin layer of gold on it. Its better against corrosion from ultraviolet light and x-rays.
-
I will do that tonight (if I manage to get out of work before 10...). By the way, I had a rescaled version of the Orion to 3.125m. I have to fix it because it does not work with last few update. Compared to the 2.5m Apollo it's almost to scale. If you want I can send it to you. (I also have a 1.875 Soyuz.)
-
A upscale of the existing model is not possible? Edit: I see, the rail would look weird
-
@Shadowmage All good. Like I said in term of playability it works. I only wanted to have smaller diameter arms on my interplanetary transport, no big problem. I will make my design around the 1.875 and that's it. They already are the best looking and most functional solar panel pack on the market. Will we have 3.75 rigid hab module? I would take a upscaled version of the 2.5. Looking at @tater picture, docked with a Orion the 2.5 looks ridiculously small.
-
In fact the only thing that I would like to be scale-able on the ISS panel is the cylinder in the center. Panel themself and second axis arms do not have to. Edit: Its something I would like, but I did more than my fair share of stupid request so...
-
Well, personally I only ever wished to be able to rescale was the double axis ISS style panel. Was not exactly because the panel was too big or too small but because its core did not fit to the spacecraft as I wished. Outside of aesthetics , the selection is so wide that I don't see why someone would like to scale.

Oh, I saw part being trained from the cargo, but I trough that it simply failed because of not enough part! It was quite a while ago.looks like Shadowmage latest patch will make that more evident.
-
IF the problem you are facing is that you can't partially deploy or store the rocket part in the inflatable, it is indeed a limiting factor. Specially if your plan was to ship rocket part using a small cargo in multiple trip form Minimus, like me. On my side I re-balanced the inflatable a bit, it require less part, so to some extent this problem is mitigated. Personal taste, not complaining here. But it allow me to carry my rocket part using a relatively small cargo, it carry just enough part to inflate a medium Hab that become a "workshop", which is big enough to store part to inflate the big ring.

Sorry for my partial answer, still at work. Yes, it is indeed the -LV. But as tater said it show as -L ingame.
-
I will send pics tonight after work. I reinstalled twice just to be sure, its weird because I checked on Github it didn't register change in quite a while.
-
@Shadowmage There seem to be a problem with SC-Tank-MFL-L in the last update. The Gold Foil normal texture seem to be broken.
-
They may or may not had been inspired by your work. Eider way, that's mean your philosophy is great. Now does it change anything for you? Personalty I do not know, but what's for sure is that even if they released a PBR on top of it your stuff would still be awesome. Your part modularity is better, we can make everything looks like it came from the same factory. We can't do that with stock look and philosophy. If they are going that way you have a long long advance, they would have to redo everything. I think you should be flattered. And I think you will be even more flattered when they release it.
-
@Daishi May I suggest you to take a look at Textures Unlimited? I do not want to delay you release, I just can't wait for it in fact. Buts since you already use a texture switch you may want some shininess and recoloring power. If you don't that's ok, I can match pretty much any color pattern with SSTU Part as they use it.
-
@Agustin These are all SRB texture. Go look under SSTU/Assets/ and look if you can find these. If not its your install that failed. If yes, well I would still reinstall...
-
If the power remain constant, it should be square. Almost certain of that. Looks like not! Pretty sure no ingame dish is conform to these formula.
-
@tater I would not agree with densified resourse, or tank. Technically, its the same substance, just cooler. As for the and tanks... they are the same. Unless someone come up with a density to temp plugin I don't see how it could be implemented. (no! I am not asking for that Mage!) But again, sometimes it fun to cheat reality a bit. Like you said, that should be done on player side. Which is why I explained how to adjust SSTU tank. @Shadowmage That look awesome! So, in that part we will have a optional cargo bay or is it gonna be separated? Exactly! (even if I do hope they will implemented, but its kind of cheap to ask and not do any of the hard work) Now I am jealous! Edit Never mind... I found it!
-
Two choice: 1: If you want a specific content to be smaller you can edit ResourceVolumes.cfg end reduce ressource volume. 2: The other option is to change tank type capacity, you can edit VolumeContainerData.cfg change a existing or create a new SSTU_CONTAINERTYPE. Keep in mind that if you create a new one you will have to edit the part config as well to add this type as a option. I did that in the past, but not for greater volume. I added a lightweight heat resistant tank. Damage sensitive, super expensive but heat resistant while being somewhere between the Standard and light in term of mass. Basically the perfect tank of future reusable rocket.
-
Deep cryogenics. Its about 10% density increase for LOX if I remember correctly. For other fuel I do not know, some gas would likely benefit more from this. Edit: I forgot to mention, if your sub cooled liquid is allowed to chill, it will expand. Kinda of a bad thing if your tank are full!
-
@tater Strange that they chose that picture, that's a quite old one. Solar panel are no more oriented like this, too much drag. We can see the shadow of the space shuttle... which is very telling.

Mage is not managing KIS, I am not even sure if he still provide a patch file for it. On the other end, the part you are looking for already exist: Take the smallest hab, change the cap for the one with a airlock and then decide that all your kerbal will now enter/exit from there. The smallest hab have two seat, so enough for the tooling. If you wish, you can add a additional version of that hab that have a larger KIS storage and put replacement part or else in it.
-
Anyway, individual KIS seat storage for part with +10 crew are a nightmare to manage. On that aspect, I prefer to have a dedicated airlock/sas with the proper tool stored there. Its convenient and feel more realistic.
