@Magicmike Was Kerbin changed as it is in the mod? I fixed that problem during development but I have no idea what it is now, I may need to rewrite the configuration for Suthe's scatterer.- 100 replies

@Magicmike I noticed this problem a lot with scatterer, it may be that I have outdated configurations for it, but even on stock scatterer I had the same issues. I'll look into it and provide a download/update. In 1.3 it seems Ike and Vall are both broke, and only those. Well it seems that stock scatterer works for me, but the modded configuration doesn't. I'm not sure why, it worked before - although I'm running 1.3. I'll probably have to wait for an updated scatterer for 1.3, and then I can hope it works.- 100 replies

@Cabbink It's likely the star is too massive in comparison with the Sun. Setting a SOI radius or lowering the mass will fix it, here's a bit of code for the SOI radius: sphereOfInfluence = 5500000000000 It should be large enough for ice worlds in the periphery of a solar system. The SOI code, however, resides in the Properties section of the star's file. This can be done for any object, by the way. -

[1.3] Suthe Planet Overhaul Mod [Version 1.9.4] [Updated for Kopernicus' Sunlight Patch] This planet mod replaces the entire stock system and renames the Sun. This solar system vaguely represents the real solar system, but I've optimized it as I see fit and made this as a result. -Cardinal markers are light-boundaries, my own form of forcing no-light boundaries upon getting closer to one than the Sun, you will no longer have access to sunlight, as for now you will need nuclear reactors and your own lights. -The Sun (Suthe) is now a red dwarf, making for a more "orangey" tint to the solar system. Descriptions, inward, out: -Abpion, a scorched, but massive planet near Suthe. Its golden surfaces are not lava, although it may be tricky to tell that apart from a distance. Perhaps it is gold. (Model export bug) -Meathe, a tidally locked semi-ocean planet. Half of its surface is always staring at Suthe while the other half is a large ice cap which perpetually stares into the outer solar system. On the day-night terminator, there are ice caps on the light side, so you may land there and establish a base with ease. (Add storms) -Smeale, a tan-pink gas giant. It does not have large moons but it has three asteroid moons within its rings. It is conveniently close to Kerbin so as long as you can reach the asteroids there, it would be relatively easy to plot large operations in the inner solar system. -Talia, a blue-green continental world. It has mostly oceanic regions, although several massive continents separate the oceans. In addition the KSC is situated on several islands above the equator, so plot missions carefully when launching! In addition Kerbin has a moon, Laythe, which is a grey moon with its own oceans, continents and ice caps. -Athode, a purple-pink planet with many small craters and an overall rough surface. It has one ice moon, Ike, with its own craters. -Asford, a semi-ice and semi-ocean world. It has relatively few clouds as its surface is cold, but not cold enough that the atmosphere will freeze onto its surface. Also, it has one moon, Risian, with no atmosphere and cracks lining its surface. -Asteroid Belt, contained with it are four major objects. Moho, a large, hilly, and cratered world. Also in this belt is Gilly and its moon Kitt, both of which are asteroids. Finally, Dres, now a darkened rock with several craters of which are blackened. It's previously anticipated that these craters must be a way of entry to Dres' core. -Kropus, a large tan gas giant. It has two moons, Mun and Eve. The Mun is a dark grey and red planet. Above it is Eve, a green planet with few continents but a large ocean and is a planet which is expected to feature vast amounts of life on its surface on varying degrees from plants to large wild animals (of which isn't possible in KSP, but roleplay as you ease). -Sermanius, an ice planet between Jool and the next planet, Trobus. This is likely an ice belt, between these two planets. It is likely a large ice world could have developed given Trobus and Jool didn't, first. Vall has three moons, two of which are asteroids and the larger, Karthis, is a dwarf object with cracks dotting its surface. -Trobus, a large ice giant, has two moons of its own, with one having its own moons. The first moon is Kleas, a cratered ice moon with a special impression on its surface. The second moon is Rothian, a certainly unique pink-white-blue gas world. It is unknown what material lies in its atmosphere, or perhaps could life be present on it? Both of its moons are Ulston, an ice planet with a thick haze making the surface invisible (with EVE), and Loade, a bright copper planet with an ice sheet covering its surface. -Outer Objects, these objects are anywhere from dwarf planet Eeloo and Minmus to comets such as Bop or Pol. None of these stock planets have been changed from their original forms but they're likely going to be dark in the future, so it'd be a unique context nonetheless. I may try tossing some extra planets into this area though, given anyone wants one or a few. Credits: -Kopernicus team, for their work makes this mod possible -KillAshley, some code of his helped me make mine, and he has some great mods! -Galileo, for some troubleshooting assistance and inspiring a semi-realistic style in my mod. -The other Kopernicus planet designers for their efforts helped mine. -Myself, so you all can download a mod as interesting as mine. To-Do list: -Add detailed textures to the planets, and add some extra details to some (volcanic eruptions, etc.) -Add asteroids in the asteroid belts and comets. Also, ring asteroids in less fine rings. Finally, gas giants receive asteroid moons around their outer SOI's. -Add compatibilities to other mods. Suggest one, and I'll try my hand at it. -Add special clouds to Meathe and Ulston. -Any minor bugs to fix. I'm not the best with troubleshooting higher-order problems, however. -scatterer team for the retextured lensflare and overall mod. -SciDefs (So far I don't have very many), so I will accept suggestions. -Optimize current features. @Galileo One idea I contemplated was forming several 0 KM size stars at a certain distance (all at different points) to simulate this? I'm trying your solution at the moment but it may be the best of both worlds. What I discovered is, for the most part, a glitch with NRM maps. I used a 1x1 pixel image for it, which appeared glitchy in the end. The result: -

@Galileo Yes, I have several planets that which are in orbits extremely far from the Sun. I will need to (try) to make the surface entirely black upon landing but the funny thing is, is when you shine a flashlight it would appear as if you're on a black hole, but I guess it's a concession I'm forced to make. -

Is there any way that, at a far distance from the Sun, to make planets appear black in ScaledSpace (and when landing on)? It's just a question since one of my mods kind-of needs it. -
I am currently preparing an alpha release. There is a lot unfinished and there aren't a whole lot of SciDefs so you will probably see several, many times over. But I decided to let SciDefs be something of a crowd-given part of my mod. Also, if anyone wants me to, I'll re-master the Walan mod and re-release it for 1.2.2. So far I'm solely working on this mod, however.

I happen to be running into a small .bin file problem (only on stock planets). The new mesh I have for the object isn't loading, so it retains the old mesh. Despite designating cache file locations (and ensured proper file destination), the only time the planet will load a new mesh is using KittopiaTech. Existing planets may be changed upon requests, however. -Currently there are several issues to fix and some developments have yet to be made. Bugs: One scatterer ocean issue to date, will address. To-Do: Add SciDefs and biomes. Perhaps tidy up some planets and fix them for a release.

So when I was using scatterer to make new atmospheric colors for some planets on a mod I'm making, it seems this odd bug occurs. From what it seems, on another planet I've made purely on my own, this problem isn't present. The bug itself features a black glitched area above the atmosphere, no matter the time on the planet. I've tried switching the version of scatterer, re-doing the atmosphere, and almost everything else. I haven't been able to find a solution to the problem. Images: http://imgur.com/a/gfkaC

I have ran into a problem with modifying stock Laythe in KSP. So far, I've done everything correctly and without error, but one problem seems to persist, despite my efforts to use a solution. In the ScaledSpace view of Laythe, having been edited to an extent with PQSMods (Heightmap), and after properly exporting textures, applied them to the planet, Laythe has, only in ScaledSpace, deformed to either a mesh with an illusion that it is smaller than it actually is, or a spherical model larger than the planet actually is, after messing a little with the "deferMesh" and "sphericalModel". Several reference images: http://imgur.com/a/6aQFw. From what it seems, however, it's purely a mesh-only problem. Galactica 'An interstellar mod' Description: Galactica is a mod which (only for now) adds a binary solar system, Kerbol-Kerbrus. Kerbrus is distant from Kerbol, however not outside of its sphere of influence. There are no planets orbiting Kerbrus, but it is accompanied by a small brown dwarf, heated from Kerbrus' light and radiation. In Kerbol's planetary system, however, there are four planets and three dwarf planets (although this may change). Currently the only major objects in order are: Istrocene, a semi-ocean and desert planet, holding with it one purple desert moon, Hyomascae. Menochiton, the largest planet with four moons. Menochiton has a large ring system, although no large objects are within it. Its moons are Euranum (sandy moon), Neupheia (ocean), Ceuliene (home planet), Curea (scarred moon). Azarmea, a toxic/acidic planet with green rings. It has one moon, Ochrae. Styre, which is a purple gas giant with three moons, all of which are ice moons. As for dwarf planets: Predail, a small lonely planet burning up near Kerbol. Femmon, a larger dwarf planet with Remailas as its primary moon and Sneodas, a captured asteroid. Nismah, an ice planet orbiting between Azarmea and Styre. Outside of the solar system is Slago, a supermassive singularity which (doesn't) contain a vast accretion disk from a former blue star. Compatibilities (Suggest which mods I should add compatibilities to) Distant Object Enhancement Scatterer Planetshine (buggy) Upcoming/Suggestions (Open to development team) Soon, I hope to add asteroid belts and periodic comets/inter-Kerbrus asteroids, which are in an orbit distant enough to be influenced by Kerbrus. I've been having trouble with KittopiaTech on version 1.1.3 of KSP. When I try to export any planets with any changes, it will hang and not complete exporting. I have installed ModularFlightIntegrator as recommended. I'm currently running KSP only using Kopernicus and ModularFlightIntegrator installed, without any other mods. Any thoughts?

@Spraki I apologise for a late response, but you can't land on it, or any gas giant for that matter. Walan may be updated sooner or later, it seems sometimes the moons will spontaneously disappear every so often under your rover.

0.91 Plans -Fix any remaining bugs -Continue adding compatibilities -OPTIONAL INSTALL "WalanStockVFX"- Adds new atmospheric prominence to the stock planets, offering a more lively stock solar system. It also changes the Jovian clouds to have more contrast. The Sun is also more red-orange tinted.
