  1. Was looking for Muse's song, facepalmed hard seeing the first suggestion.
  2. Wow, just got back from vacation. I really don't see the point of this.
  3. It's able to fly with a 36t payload, about 78% of its own mass.
  4. I'm busy trying out a new freighter design.
  5. Sauf votre respect monsieur, it's written "oreille" instead of "orielle". Just my french 2 cents ^^ (I like the graphic novel, by the way)
  6. Thanks ! I've updated the main post. Day 2, I'm 50km away from my starting point.
  7. Vall is probably the hardest place to drive. At least with stock parts. Got a pretty picture of my Antlion
  8. I'm doing it on Eeloo, with a stock vehicle. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/130792-Elcano-challenge-Driving-through-the-frozen-wastes-%28R1-Antlion%29
  9. Day 1 is over. I'm waiting for the sun. Things went way more smoothly than first expected. The Antlion is sturdy enough to take quite a beating without losing any part, and microgravity is not hard to cope with.
  10. I got nothing to do lately, so I decided to give a try to the Elcano challenge. On Eeloo. Goal : Circumnavigating Eeloo via its poles. Currently : Time since landing : 04:26:51 Current position : The vehicle : Here's the R1 Antlion : - 45 parts. - 4,110 kg. - 4.2m * 5.2m * 4.7m in size. - 6 wheels. - Sturdy outer casing (Crash tolerance ~ 40m.s-1). - 2 communication devices. - Internal power plant (4 PB-NUK generators). - Scientific gear (Thermometer, accelerometer, gravioli detector, barometer, fluid spectro-variometer, 6 goo pods). /!\ STOCK PARTS ONLY /!\ Day 2 04:17:38 : Time to go, my planet needs me. Before dawn : Went all the way back on foot to plant this f@¤ù*( á° Üʖ á°) flag to my starting point, in the middle of the crater. Fortunately there was some old Compact Disk inside the rover, so I could enjoy some music. Day 1 01:24:39 : Almost night. I stopped the Antlion to send a message to Kerbin and get some rest. I feel lonely. 01:19:46 : Two tires popped. I quickly replaced them and resumed my journey. 01:17:56 : I investigated a weird anomaly. The light disappeared once I tried an EVA. 01:07:51 : Finally on the other side. It went smoothly. 01:01:31 : Here it is. The huge crack. 00:54:56 : I'm getting near the huge ice crack. 00:24:15 : I finally made it. All the data gathered is on its way to the KSC. Second quicksave. 00:22:25 : The tire is back on and the Antlion is still on its way. 00:19:59 : The crater stole one of the Antlion's tires. 00:17:29 : Small indeed. 00:15:48 : The Antlion approaches the crater's edge. I suddenly feel a bit small. 00:09:09 : Bill is hungry. The Antlion is still in the crater. 00:05:36 : First quicksave and science gathering. I'm starting to feel alone on this dead rock. 00:03:33 : The Antlion begins to move towards the north pole. 00:00:00 : Landing in Eeloo's main crater. Bill Kerman forgot to plant a flag and I forgot to take a picture.
  11. Still driving my way on the icy wastelands. The rover handles well considering how low gravity is here.
  12. I'm considering trying the Elcano challenge on Eeloo. I already made the rover, the R1 Antlion : EDIT : Hehe, 42nd post.
  13. This is my plane. It worked fine one hour ago, and since then I made an insignificant modification to it (adding a ladder). When on the runway, the pitch controls are normal (Z to go down, S to lift up, I'm using an AZERTY keyboard layout) (Here I'm pressing S) And suddenly, for no reason at all, the controls got reversed (Z to go up, S to go down). I tried to remove the ladder, the controls are still inverted. Switching to a stock plane fixes the issues (However, switching back to my plane reverse the controls again), rebooting the game too (Albeit temporarily). It's pretty annoying and probably has nothing to do with the CG, as the plane worked fine one hour ago when first tested. Please, help. EDIT : I think I know what's causing this. I previously controlled the ship from a Mk2 probe core. My issues happened after I decided to control my ship from the reversed Mk2 cockpit. Please ignore all of this. It would be nice to have this bug fixed, though.
  14. I managed to almost hit mach 1 with the Shark MkII with less than 1/3 of its maximum throttle.
