  1. @PorkJet Is there a reason for the extreme amount of gimballing on the Gas Core NTR?
  2. I look at this and am simultaneously horrified, amused, and impressed. I love the concept and intended use, but visually I cannot shake the image of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_XF-85_Goblin
  3. I like the idea of this as a 2.5m complement to the 3.75m Taurus HCV mod
  4. All the drawings I have ever seen had roughly the same planform, except for the early "fat bullet" design. Not that that "fat bullet" layout lends itself very well to KSP's style of modular construction. If there were other designs that I somehow missed, please post the drawings. I would love to see them, and I suspect others would as well. Edit: Found this, http://nextbigfuture.com/2009/02/updated-project-orion-nuclear-pulse.html But they seem to be iterations of the fat bullet
  5. Aww Yiss. This is gonna be good. Any plans for making it compatible with tweakscale? For building the 100,000 ton Orion Cruiser of course
  6. The beauty of Orion is that it's low tech, but should cost an obscene amount of reputation to unlock in career mode. If Orion had been pursued earnestly from the beginning, we'd have never built chemical rockets like we did. No need for fancy ICBMs when you have a fleet of near-torchship dreadnoughts that can schwack half a continent with a fraction of their payload. When you can put 100,000 tons into orbit like it's nothing, that's like the advent of cavalry, steam power, or the wheel.
  7. >stockalike Orion NPP Sweet smoky barbecued christ, you are my hero. Having played with Nyrath's Orion, i'm still learning my way around properly controlling it, that and trying to build an SSTO Heavy Cruiser. There's nothing quite like the feeling of solar escape velocity before you even clear the Mun.
