Hey folks, My first mission report here and I thought I'd share my first success of attempting an Apollo-style mission (with CM & LEM). It did take a lot of ship tweaking and attempts, but here is first success..... well not completely flawless, but more to that later.... the main thing is Jeb landed on the Mun and returned safely. A beautiful morning at the launchpad and Jeb is on his way to embark the Echo Mun Jeb had boarded and all systems are a "Go" Kouston we have lift-off Pickung up speed and aiming for a 100km altitude. All systems running as say should.... well at least that's what the instruments show. Almost in space MECO...................... Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!!!! Ok let's unwrap the lander and get to work Easy and slow now Mun is getting closer and larger Finding a good spot to land In the lander preparing for approach Hitting the brakes Just a few meters left...... you can start slowing down Jeb..... Jeb? .... JEB??? Don't worry Jeb is fine and landed smoothly.... he just likes the thrills Smile for the camera Ok... remember when I said far from being flawless? Well it turns out the stupidity level of the engineers were a bit too high. Barely enough fuel on the lander and more importantly no RCS(!!!!). So Jeb thought ok I'll get the lander close enough EVA to the CM and dock from there. Too bad Val isn't here for this Home sweet home Time to say farewell to the lander Jeb covered himself in ice.... just in case Another happy landing And that's it. If you enjoyed this mission report I might add more in the future. Thanks for viewing and a nice to you all
