Being a Banks fan, I always liked the entries on this list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spacecraft_in_the_Culture_series) although there's just a few that I would consider Kerbally. The Funny, It Worked Last Time..., I Thought He Was With You, Only Slightly Bent and Ultimate Ship The Second are a few names that seem to describe a situation I've had in KSP at some point though..

Don't poke the author please. He just said not to expect any updates before the weekend (which is not the same as committing to updates on the weekend either). I'm sure Parka will get to it when life permits him to.

With their superhuman resistance to sooo many forms of damage, endless supplies of fresh recruits, and air and spacecraft that outperform anything we've ever built in every imaginable way, I'd wonder if we wouldn't be the ones that get thrashed. I'd rather keep that door shut thank you.

Why Does Anybody Use Engine Gimbal?
FyunchClick replied to Geschosskopf's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Interesting, you mean like having a toggle option of some sort to cut the gimbals out of regular craft control entirely and just have it compensate thrust torque. I usually spend a lot of time with RCS build aid and KER tweaking my designs to have as little thrust torque as possible for any given fuel state; I'd love to give such an option a try. -
Gee where were those mafia-association-impression-invoking washed out images inspired from? At first I thought the Scarface poster but that's not quite it. Please put me out of my misery or I'll be wracking my brains all night long.

At this point, I could try and make a somewhat strained attempt to link your avatar to the phrase "so long, and thanks for all the fish", but alas it turns out a Narwhal is technically a whale, so I think we should leave it at that.

@Kuzzter tres cool screenshot what with the cutaways. Kinda reminds me of that old revell U-boat kit I built as a kid (picture, not mine because that's long gone). It's also really drives home the fact that you're basically hurling a sizable office building through space there, more than any of those other screenshots ever did for me.

Oh, you could just saying that to get our hopes up. Kappaverse already established it don't pull its punches. OTOH, having Jeb fly to his doom on that particular craft has got to be Chekhovs gun.

I noticed that it behaves differently moving the folder or copying it (one of which you're bound to do if you want to safeguard it from being overwritten by steam). When moving it you should be fine I think, but if you copy it to somewhere else under program files you probably have to reapply permissions. Save files end up somewhere in a folder under your user folder if you don't have permissions set, but I'm not entirely sure that folder can handle mods and their configs too. Bonus points for not running your regular account(s) under admin permissions.

Keyboard?

Well there was a bit in the change logs about changing the way it handles com calculation in orbit to prevent ap/pe jumping around. Perhaps it's not applying that fix to the camera so it now jumps around instead in your case? I suggest logging a bug.

Well Q never had much skin in the game and mostly seemed to be doing things on a lark, and that doesn't sound like KF Werner. What if Werner is a stranded traveler from as yet undiscovered Gerbin (orbiting the distant star Gerbol?). He could have tried to bootstrap a space industry to find a means to get back home, and made an error of judgment on the temperament of the inhabitants of the planet he chose for this initially, mistaking aggression for drive and naivety for ineptitude. Even more sinister, he could have uplifted both Kerbals and Kermulans from either native life or cloned them from his own manipulated genetic material (or a mix) which would not only explain the lack of evidence of long term civilization on Kerbin but also make him directly responsible for the temperaments of both Kermulans and Kerbals (erring on the sides of aggression in an attempt to expedite space travel development with the Kermulans and overcompensating that error in the Kerbals when he attempted again).

Just as much as using a kpad to quietly alter the persistence state I guess? I do prefer a good lampshade over leaving the gritty bits out in the cold harsh light.

Oh well, I should've known there was a mod for that... I'm definitely going to check that out when I get properly underway with a 1.1 career, as I'm always just roleplaying reasons to bring my scientists and science equipment once I've filled out the tree (or the parts that I want anyways).

Neat, I should ask more questions just to see if that triggers more updates. Questions like are you setting some rules for yourself for using science like you did with your mission schedule when this started? Say first engine efficiency improvement of 2.5% costs 250 science, second 2.5% is 500, third 1000, similar for max thrust, fuel tank size etc. Or will you just let narrative needs drive it (like the upgrade to rescue X requires a scientific mission to sufficiently dramatic and hard to reach location Y)?

@Parkaboy are you planning to go over to 1.1 or will you be sticking with 1.05 for a while?

In some sense they are perfect for each other, broken things that they are, but there's still the notion that killing Stelrines is what Fabian does. I agree with you, this is destined to end badly, and that gives Parka a lot of ways to play this (including subversion of that destiny).

Really, why not up the ante and go with live action? Perhaps starring Kuzz. jr and friends in leotards with pingpongballs sewn on in front of a green screen to be the Kerbfleet crew? I understand that will take even longer to do but I'm sure the Dres Awareness crew would want nothing but the best kind of attention for their beloved piece of rock.

Have you seen screenshots for job simulator? It's one of the more popular titles as I understand it but it doesn't seem to go out of its way to do hyper detailed or realistic graphics, and looks rather stylized like Kerbal does.

In my experience with an E class with 16 LV-Ns in pull configuration there still tends to be an awful lot of instability involved as the whole thing is rather heavy and any stabilization using either reaction wheels or vernors sets it thing oscillating, with very little you can do in the way of dampening it. Without locking the claw it was even worse as there's even less dampening. I ended up making a lot more passes to wrangle in a circular LKO than I originally planned, to act as a stepping stone to fuel my interplanetary missions.

Aw you didn't include the red button encore:

Something about gifting the ball to the other team by placing it in the netted gift-receptacle on their half while they try and give it to your team at the same time, no doubt. Whomever is the most generous gets the title of nicest team.
